because "whales" can't stop themselves. It's addiction...
Whale? No, I’m a person who works way too much and enjoy a good computer game when I have time. I wouldn’t say supporting something good is bad.
But yes, it’s not like a donation to charity - it’s a computer game and I expect special treatment for my money.
Absolutely, but it’s cool

And i think you lie to yourself and all this "to support awesome game" is just an excuse.
This line says everything:
"I wanted the pathfinder skin and paid $100 for it."
It has nothing to do with "supoport". You are whale by definition.- 7 years ago

I wish they'd just reduced the event length so an end was put to all the griping frankly.
It sucks.
We aint happy about it.
Is there anything more that needs to be said?

The game needs both whales and freeloaders. BR game needs alot of player to start a match. Freeloaders keep the playerbase healthy, and eventually will attract big spenders.
A F2P game with no big spenders aka whale ?
In 6 months, They will stop development. No more new contents.
After 6 months, they close some unpopulated servers.
After that, more and more server will be closed until the game become dead completely. End of a cycle.
Another thing, F2P is the best mode for BR game now. It allows easy entry for new players aka build up playerbase.
Blackout, Firestorm failed because it's a paid game. Only PUBG survived because it was 1 of the first BR gam and its price is easy to swallow.
@Pesqez didnt lie when he said he supports this game with his $500
