Any skill based matchmaking?
I ask this, because one of overwatch's strengths is playing against people of relative skill, it would be cool if this game has some logic for this...

I'm already calling this, when matchmaking is out, all of these casuals will start posting the typical posts: "OMG MATCHMAKING BROKEN, STUCK IN ELO HELL, PLEASE FIX, I'M A DIAMOND PLAYER STUCK IN SILVER CAUSE THIS MATCHMAKING IS BAD, NOT ME!!!Maybe if they would release games that were finished like they used to then we wouldn't need more content.
Maybe they never released f2p games back in the days? 😕

Just shut up... I have a life i work 8-10 hrs per day.. i dont have the luxury to grind a game 10-15 hrs a day,, but when i do get a chance to play i want to play with ppl like me 10-15 hrs a week .. let the no lifers play out there live online.. if apex dont implement anything like that it will die faster than pubg.. i give it 2 months.. tops.. Out for 10 days.. jeez you dont think its an yeasy algorithm to match make.. joewslsi .. stop typing in caps.. stop being so salty.. its ok to make demands on a game that have millions of players in a few days.. coz otherwise theyll loose em.. xx
SgtSweede77 and Loth are right. Playing against much higher level players with hundreds of more kills than I have is just not fun. Until they implement some sort of skill-based Matchmaker, I'm just going to head back to Overwatch. Being a F2P game is zero excuse for not having a proper matchmaking system. Hell, Heroes of the Storm is F2P and had it. Ditto for League of Legends, and others. It's been done. F2P is not an excuse for not having it.
I agree....I'd like to see skill-based or experience-based matching be done as well.
I'm a newbie...just started playing today. I've played for about an hour and haven't gotten a single kill (just to point out my newbie-ness!) 🙂
Anyways, I love the game so far.
I seriously played Fortnite for about 20 minutes today...thought I'd give it a chance since my son plays it non-stop and is very good.
I just couldn't deal with the 3rd person perspective though.
I love Apex's "ping", the ease of use for picking things up (easy to see what you need or don't need) and the Legend's unique abilities are very cool.
Oh, and I love the speed/momentum of the game. It's very fun.
The only thing that sucks is getting teamed up with level 50-60-70+ people who clearly don't want to be weighed down by someone like me who's not very good (yet).
It would be nice for the game to not be so overwhelming for newbies and at the same time give players with much higher level skills the ability to rock it.
Thought? Maybe at least a 3 tier/layered approach? 1) Newbies, 2) Adept, 3) Masters (or something like that, with ranges of levels)??
That way at least, you might be matched up with others of different skillz/levels, but they wouldn't be too extreme.

lack of skill based match-making. This is bad for new and experienced players.

Poor map balance relative to player size (half the server dies in the first three minutes leaving a big map for 10 squads)
Poor character balance
Bares bones content (only one map)
This is what's killing the game atm. Hackers don't even enter the equation, the game has bigger issues. It needs a lot of work.
The problem is that People like me and my friends Who are 30+ years old that we have being playing video games since the Atari or NES but that rigth now we have Jobs and family to take cate of, we cant play in a regular basis perhaps 1 our per Day if we are Lucky, we cant compite against People Who have already 200+ hours of game play, we cant inprove as fast as this youngters and is frustating that we love the game but is getting boring because 90% of the time is the same result, please EA think about us first generation gamers that dont have the time anymore to practice a lot but love video games.
- Sick and tired of being matched against 1000+ kill no lifers who have no jobs and just sit at home all day playing games it gets boring as hell MMR needs to come and soon these so called pros can then go and kill eachother.
How do people complain about mmr in this BR but every other BR I've played literally doesn't have any MMR either? I mean...what? lol. Also do you know how crap waiting in que would become with mmr? Right now the games would be fast cause of all the players but as the numbers decline and become more stable to people who actually are going to fully dedicate MM is going to take a few minutes at a time to find especially with everyone in different divisions. It's like high tier LoL it takes WAY longer to find a match then when your in silver/gold. Game is suppose to be fast paced and quick not sit and wait especially when you can be taken out almost immediately.
Trust me though I felt the same way considering this was my first BR except pubg but I hated pubg and almost NEVER played it. So when people who've lived on BR's or other fast paced games wrecked me I felt horrid but I just kept playing and watching streamers, learning good movement which guns/attachments to go for and now I can handle myself much better, my aim is getting smoother better lasering. It'll suck but honestly dedicate a full day 8-12 hours and by the next day you'll be insanely better.
If you say well you don't have time for that, then you can't really complain that you get wrecked? You play for fun while the others are playing more competitively or for a stream so they need to be good and streamers make a living off of it (good ones anyway) But whats the point of MMR if you don't plan on every progressing anyway? Most games with an MMR system have rank decay and if your not pushing those long hours even if you manage to hit a high rank you'll still get destroyed because most people there put in WAY more hours overall unless your just a natural that somehow turned into a god. Because obviously ranks cap at some point right? There aren't unlimited ranks.
Also I'm sure they'll be adding all different kinds of modes for people later on, the game is still in it's baby stages. You guys need to relax and just chill out for awhile. This will probably be closer to 3-6 months of work in progress before THOSE kinds of changes come, we'll likely get solo's/duo's before anything MMR related if EVER get anything MMR related.
WHAT I THINK SHOULD BE IN THE GAME, is a practice mode where you can just invite a bunch of your friends to run around the map, learn spots/flanks/practice aim. Maybe even have a respawn in the practice mode so that you don't have to restart when you guys kill each other maybe even a firing range similiar to the tutorial but with moving targets (randomly generated movement) Maybe bots? Where you can change difficulty or set them to no aggro so you can just focus on lasering/aiming.
- adding a map with like 5-10s raspawn on a ship with weapons and white attachments so new players in game/BR can learn weapon mechanics and aiming could help to prepare them for BR game.
first BR i play and liked it, would pay for that mode if needed.
This could train players for the real game/avoid new players get devastated in the first minute/ keep pro players safe from being teamed with new players with no knowlege/avoid to make huge queues because of ELO for low populated ELO ratings.
