Apex coins from best buy not working

I bought two Apex Legends 10,000 (!500) bonus cards from bestbuy today and when I hit confirm to add them to my account it says. The product code you entered is not valid. Please re-enter the code. It's extremely weird because it knows the product that I am trying to redeem is the coins but it doesn't allow me to add them to my account :/ I just don't like adding my credit card to my EA account since someone tried to gain access a while back so the pre-paid cards are my go to option but if I can't get this to work then I guess I'm just going to be out of the coins (I'm sure Best Buy will work with me). 

Anyone else have this issue? If you know of a fix or anything, please let me know :D

    Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having. If your redemption code is not working double-check the redemption steps on the back of the card.

  • I am sorry to hear that you are having this problem as well. I gave $100 to Best Buy last night for a code for 11,500 Apex coins. After doing some research it appears this is an issue on Best Buy's end that has been going on for three weeks. No clue why Best Buy finds it acceptable to continue to take people's money for these faulty codes. According to Best Buy customer support they cannot offer a refund on codes such as these. However, I was assured that "they are working diligently to solve the issue." Again, why they think it is okay to continue to sell these faulty codes is beyond me. It seems that all we can do for now is sit on our hands and wait for Best Buy to fix the issue on their end. In the meantime we have a thread going on their forums (https://forums.bestbuy.com/t5/Gaming-Support/Online-purchased-EA-Origin-code-not-activated-by-Best-Buy/td-p/1313307) that you can post on in order to hopefully speed up the process or pressure them to give us our money back, which is more than deserved seeing as how the product does not work. Also, don't be afraid to give them negative reviews for all Windows Apex coin codes to warn others not to spend their money on these broken codes.

    If you call bestbuy support, they will give you a free refund if unable to get you a new working code, they did this for me about 3-4 days ago

    they gave me a refund for both codes since they didn't work 

    if i buy more codes, how will i know if they'll actually work?

    this is false. they have not fixed the issue. my codes don't work still.

    You said they refunded you for the codes. Codes are generally disabled/revoked when a refund is initiated. We recommend contacting Best Buy Support directly if you have any questions regarding that purchase. We unfortunately do not have any visibility around that transaction.

    The first two I bought were refunded but I went and bought another one after you said they have fixed the issue on their end and it still does not work. 

    Looks like I'll probably have to be refunded on this one. Why other people got working codes and not me? Who knows...

    Best Buy is incorrect. The issue has not been fixed. Buying new codes still does not work. Ask for a refund if you have already bought codes from Best Buy. To any prospective buyers, DO NOT BUY APEX COIN CODES FOR WINDOWS FROM BEST BUY. They need to remove these products from their website.
