Apex Legends and weapon recoil, strike packs.

I've been wondering what is the point of having such crazy recoil patterns on some guns when some people seem to get around it and eliminate it entirely?

When I shoot an R99 it kicks like crazy, it wobbles left and right a lot. When I watch some others use it it's literally magic. It's a laser. If they move, their bullet stream literally looks as if it slightly curves to hit the target, 200+ damage streams on people even at 100m.

Some shoot the flatline full auto at 150m or so and the same thing happens, the weapon has seemingly no recoil, no bullet spread just streams of bullets, point and click.

At this point recoil is just a mechanic to make life absolutely miserable for anyone new that joins this game and anyone dumb enough not to pay money for literal cheats that the devs seem to tolerate entirely.

Will there ever be a serious attempt to deal with this issue? Can we maybe get an opt in to play only against PC players if we play PC? PC has crazy cheats too ofc, but at least they are dealt with at some point... console? they get a free pass, forever, and get to play with no recoil and movement macros and what not.

u have 3 choices there, one is to join cheaters and just chill, play as it is, or just quit, last one is best choice imho. why last one, well you talk about the same problem that exists from the start, lesson learned that nothing is going to be done by devs as they're busy pumping **bleep** updates and lame skins, just boycot the game untill its fixed, likely it wont, so just find a better things to do with your time.

That's true, although they'll probably delete this video link faster than they'll do anything about it.

Well, you're partially correct for sure.

This link was removed to avoid promoting cheating. Hopping in live games with a cheater just to test/"expose" cheats and then posting that is not something to promote.

No one is denying there's an issue with cheaters. It's something we're constantly working to address, along with everyone else in the industry. There unfortunately just isn't a "one-and-done" solution to this, and we have to continually update our detection as the cheaters continue updating their methods to dodge it.

Feel free to check out the blogs below for more info on some of our more recent efforts to tackle the issue as this absolutely remains a priority.

It would be nice though if the devs cut down on all the arcane movement mechanics that contribute to a lot of people scripting and using macros in order to keep up with the meta.

It would be nice if a lot of recoil patterns would be simpler to handle so that someone that is a new player/returning player wouldn't face an even steeper challenge against the more seasoned players, the experience disadvantage is enough, being mechanically disadvantaged on top of it is just too much, I am speaking from experience.

When you add all the above and cheats to the mix the experience for new players is outright toxic. Streamline the game so that a lot of people that are competitive don't even feel the need to script/use macros to pull off ridiculous movement or trivialize recoil. This right here is my main message that I would like for the devs to hear.

The devs can choose to ignore such feedback but I honestly believe it's to the detriment of the long term health of the game- new players are simply discouraged to stick around, and it's a shame, it's still a good game if you put all these issues aside.
