Banner Recovery Time

@swift07 I think the banner recovery time is fine as it is, if your teammate was that far away, you deserve better. The real problem in my mind is the mindset where it’s harmless to ditch. This mindset seems to be common. Ditch leaves your team at a hide disadvantage, and is really annoying. I would like to see a soft penalty introduced to casual, as well as a more sarcastic are you sure you want to leave message.

Soft penalty: ditched when downed: 5 minute penalty, ditched when boxed 4: minute penalty, ditched when half way through banner: time 1 minute, ditched while banner is in hand: 3 minute penalty, ditched while actively being respawned: lifetime ban. Ditched mid match for no apparent reason: no penalty, emergency or lunch might have occurred.

New are you sure you want to leave message for pubs: leaving your teammate may result in them being sad, we recommend you don’t leave you teammate to die, hold to confirm untimely departure.

@BigMacAttack8u you could be close to your teammate and not be able to recover the banner within that time period.

I don't have an issue with teammates ditching me, since, that's not a common or frequent issue. Occasionally, I'll get teammates that drop solo, but that's rare.

@BigMacAttack8u So under these rules I can still ditch while in flight or upon landing and finding nothing or my teammates are toxic?

@hayhor Yes, I tried to still give room for reasonable ditching, without any penalty, penalties would not stack. I just wanted to get rid of rash annoying heat of the moment ditching.

Having the ability to bring back dead teammates, no matter how hard it is or how short the timer, is already a crutch for bad players and imo there's enough of that going on in this game. I understand why Respawn designed the option into the game - making it easier and more fun for pre-mades to stay together - but it's hard enough to kill someone in this game. Whether they're my teammate or my prey, I want them disadvantaged for getting killed. Might make them think a little harder about pushing, or practising a little coordination, or a little communication, or, God forbid, a little discretion. All in all, I vote for fewer get-out-of-jail-free cards, not more.

@reconzero recovery is part of most major BR's and Apex has the lowest time to recover out of all of them. I brought up this topic because Apex has a problem with people leaving after they get knocked or killed, before the banner expires. If recovery time was longer, then it might help this issue.

@BigMacAttack8u seems like you've been ditched a lot. I don't really have a problem with people (even randoms) ditching me when I'm down. They're usually trying to revive me or grab my banner. If they can't get the banner, then they can't. I have no problem with that. It's not worth them all dying just to try to revive me or grab my banner.

@reconzero I don't think it's because it's "more fun for pre-mades to stay together", I'm pretty sure it's because people want 2nd chances and don't want to be out of the game.

@BigMacAttack8u oh, my bad. I thought you meant something else. Well, this topic was a suggestion to the issue of people leaving prematurely ("ditching" in your words).

I've thought of the penalties before but I don't think it would be good for the game. I'm pretty sure a lot of people who get penalized will probably just get off the game for a while. Also, there are a good amount of reasons why people leave and a lot of them are reasonable. Why force them to stay and be unhappy.
