Can Car be a light ammo gun or was this a bug?

What I still don't know is: if I attach a light mag can I still use heavy ammo, and if I attach a heavy mag can I still use light ammo?

@reconzero Yes you can use any mag with any ammo with a CAR. This is the benefit of it over an r99. It's easier to kit but harder to control.

@AymCTL Surely that picture isn't right after drop? You have lots of ammo, 2 guns and heat shields. The ammo swap is one quick button so it's easy to hit that button. This is where a video is a lot better than a picture.

@hayhor Right, it wasn't immediately after the drop, we landed hot and me and the two bots took on two bot squads at the place where the sky trolley things go back and forth over the lava. After they were dead I looted all the bins by the fences and got the loot.

Also, I never knew all of this about the Car, so I guess it's the most versatile if it can take light ammo.

@AymCTL One other thing- If you run out of heavy ammo and have light it auto switches to light and does not auto switch back to heavy even if you pick some up. It's quite likely this happened. You can of course switch back to heavy by pressing the button.

@reconzero Use the firerate/type change button. The button that toggles hemlock between burst and single, 301 between auto and single, akimbo between akimbo and single, etc.
For the CAR it toggles it between heavy and light. Need ammo to do it though.
It NEVER comes preloaded with light, always heavy.
And even when you have it in light ammo mode, replicators still craft heavy for it instead of light.
However, if you run out of the active ammo and empty the mag, and have some alt ammo, it will automatically swap type and load with the other ammo.
Ex: light mode, no spare, empty mag, have heavy, swaps to and load heavy. Likewise heavy mode, no spare, empty mag, have light, swaps to and loads light.
