Can someone explain please?

Hello,

I know teammates (randoms) have always been an issue in Apex but can someone please explain to me why I am always with absolutely awful players?

I have very similar stats to some of my friends that play this game, by all means we are NOT 'good' players my KDR this season is between 1.27/1.35 and overall its about 0.98 but it seems that every game I go into I am pretty much having a teammates who is a bot / low level which isn't an issue but the reason why I say bot is because the players just don't ping anything, they never have mics they just run into fights, die and leave.

The reason I said I have similar stats to my friends is because they get paired up with some really good players and some of them become our friends and we then play with them but me, I have never met anyone like this it seems I don't get paired up with players who are better than me and I honestly suck haha!

And this happens regardless of stats in my experience.
  • @rockyboy1998 1.27 is still a lot better than a majority of the people playing when you take into account that people think it's fun to spectate someone after they've died and their banner has timed out. Even moreso after realizing that a majority of the player-base thinks it's an enjoyable time to loot for 10 minutes and get wiped on the first squad encountered.

I'm at 3.15 K/D overall, and 1.97 for this season (I quit playing a week after S6 hit) and honestly truly you're not going to find good teammates no matter how good you are. Or if you do find a good teammate, it's so few and far between it's basically not worth mentioning. But cause you're "better than most" you're going to go up against all those dudes who play Apex as a full-time career because SBMM purposely matches up "good" players against "good" players, while giving them "bad" teammates.

@BigBlackCaustic Sorry for the slow reply buddy!

Yes, I do agree with you. It's weird because S5 playing solo was a lot easier for me to get kills, this season I find the lobbies much easier in a pre made squad? Not sure if that's normal but it never used to be that way!
  • @pastaclown Hmm, I guess so! Everyone that I speak to on here always seems to have better stats than me though?

I am starting to find this game so frustrating, I just can't seem to get better as a player and have no clue how to get better!

@rockyboy1998 outside of practicing your own skills (movement / aim) you're really not going to consistently feel like you're improving at all, even with a premade team. It's a kick in the teeth to win the 1v2, get downed by the third enemy, and realize your teammates are either both downed because of said enemy, or they just ran off on their own.

I'd say, give up on trying to consistently improve. Practice your aim and movement outside of Apex, and rather just try to have fun on a game to game basis.

  • @rockyboy1998 2k hours of solo queuing and I have never met a person who sticks around for long. Most stop playing, so you have to keep clearing your friend list. And then you are back to solo queue. I think 80 % of my playtime is as a solo-queuer. I don't even invite any random or send them friend requests anymore. My S6 k/d is 1.21(last season 1.25) and lifetime k/d is 0.9 prolly.
I just had a Japanese guy in my team last night, and we won a ranked match. He did around 900 dmg, I did 1.5k and 3rd random had 1.2 k. He invited me so I played with him a couple.
Currently, only 6 out of my 22 origin friends actually play.
