Cheating on Console

Does EA / Respawn or the community’s recognise that there is an actual problem?!

Rapid Fire and Anti Recoil GPC scripts is a real thing that I think is prevalent in the game. Hop ups like the Anvil Hop-Up plays into the cheats hands. For us normal players we have to go to single fire. For the cheats, they go to single fire, activate rapid fire and have a twice as powerful gun. Hence a lot of the rapid fire from the G7.

Yes. There are good and great players that play the game. When you watch the Apex PC Tournaments you see how great the best are. Speed of thought, brilliant use of ultimates, great blending of character abilities.

That is not what I see with these guys. Stand in the open and shoot because the gun they have is going to shred. Not good movement or play. Great aim? Some are. But when I have been lazered and I check my death recap and it is body shots.

Dying is part of the game. You enter the arena, all things being fair with a 5% chance of winning (one squad out of twenty). So if you want to be average, you need to win 5% of your games, that is 5 in 100. So dying happens. But you get the feeling, a rhythm. Like on PC, you know when you have been dropped too quickly because the guy fired a wingman / G7 like it was a R99.

I play with players and hear the clacking of a keyboard....Urgh! K & M should not be allowed on console.

I was killed by one guy that I did not hear running around. I then watched this guy run at other teams who were oblivious to him. Running full tilt, not one player turned to engage. I watched it for two teams....Is there now a sound hack?!

I think, as a player that has played the game for a long time, spent money....Has a positive K/D Overall and for Seasons 2 and 3 and Ranked 1 and 2. I consider myself to be competent. Average. I want to know that someone is working on this problem, that as a customer my experience is being considered.

SWBF1 had issues with players using scripts. SWBF2 the issue does not feel so prominent. Apex, there are players level 10 with the 20 kill badge. Level 10. So are these the greatest players no one knows about? How long did it take Dr Disrespect, Viss, Shroud, etc?

Can EA detect or even monitors cheating on console? Rather than ban the free account Sony should ban the PSN account!

Sorry for the negativity, I love the game, enjoy playing. S3 feels like some issues have got worse. What’s everyone else’s thoughts??

@MandatoryIDtag While I appreciate your gutsy stance on KBM on console, it absolutely does give these players a significant advantage, even without the aim assist.

There are literally only a handful of people skilled enough on controller to compete with good KBM players. The reason (as I’m sure you already know) is that aiming with the arm is sooooo much more precise than aiming with a thumb.

Again— I admire your stance on not caring if your opponents use KBM, but I definitely think KBM users should not be competing against controller users.

@Axs5626Sxa5001 Yet on PC they already mix controller and M&K

Modded controllers and strike packs are the biggest threat to consoles.

Again with an Xbox Adaptive Controller they could be playing with a toaster and you wouldn't even notice.

@Sir_Named I've not played Apex once in the last 6 months or so without coming up against an anti-recoil user. It wasn't so bad before that, barely noticeable even. But now, the game is absolutely riddled with it. Just spectate those who kill you, you'll soon see a pattern.

And it's almost always the ones with the 20 kill or 4k damage badges, which is another early giveaway, and they are almost always using a Havoc / R99 and beaming you across the map with both. Legitimate players will always find it hard to get those figures in a game, but with a £35 mod giving you zero recoil on whichever gun you choose, it becomes child's play. I save at least one new clip every day on my HDD of cheaters shooting any guns like laser beams with zero recoil compensation or movement. I'm not talking about "controlling recoil bro", like loads of absolute morons have tried justifying it with. I can control recoil too. I'm talking about aiming, shooting, hip firing, and the gun not even slightly twitching out of line.

Those players such as yourself out there unaware of the gravity of this problem, trust me. Once you start spectating and believing what you're seeing to be real, you'll have a damn seizure.
  • I watch a number of youtubers beaming people with the r99 and havoc without any recoil. I know they are not using modded controllers because they have hand cam videos to prove it as they are accused all the time. Lots of people can control the recoil and as the game is out longer more people will get the skill. I really don't believe it is as common as people are saying. Also If someone has the 20 kill and 4 k badges they are very, very good players. A normal person like me has no hope of ever getting the 20 badge, even if i had recoil cheats because my game sense and movement are not good enough. If they have 20 kill and 4 k badges then they are probably going to look other wordly to normal players and will in most situations hit their shots more than you or me.

I have spent a lot of time looking at the strike pack etc tutorials on youtube because I like to understand the technology and haven't found one yet that showed the recoil control being used while the player is moving. They only show someone standing still whilst firing. If you are moving the right thumbstick then when the anti recoil kicks in wouldn't it effect your tracking? would it it be fighting your look inputs? happy to have someone explain or show it.

Another thing advertised is extra aim assist and this I think is a scam. The videos that show it in action just turn of aim assist for the before video and turn it back on for the after. I know this because when the player being aimed at moves across the reticle it doesn't move at all and it obviously would if normal aim assist was working. Also the modded controller can't change game files and as the controller has no effect to the aim assist a player gets then how can it effect aim assist in game. If anyone can explain that to me then please do.

If any one has videos of the recoil control being used while the player is moving then please link them here and save me some time. Likewise evidence for enhanced aim assist.

I am not being rude or trying to put anyone down. I am just genuinely interested in how things work and very happy to watch any videos that might enlighten me. Have a look at iTemp, back off my jankz, iSweatband, knoqd (no.1 pred on pc/ plays with controller), matt pickett (plays mirage in pred lobbies with 70 fov). Soar kobi, sultan d etc. THey all have videos on how to control recoil and show it in game where it makes you think "how the hell..."

  • @littlxr I’m guessing it’s because anti-recoil isn’t the same as aimbot. I usually just brush myself off and play again.
But why do people need anti-recoil mods? The recoil on most guns is manageable. (The R-99 recoil and similar guns is difficult, but I assume players that actually practice could control it fairly easily.)
The only gun I really have difficulty controlling is the L-Star, because it has crazy horizontal recoil.

@apostolateofDOOM Mleh, I can see. Or at least it doesn't bother me that much. Although I do seem to miss a lot when using it, as a whole I'm not a fan of the L-Star.

@MandatoryIDtag Agreed, I’ve been reading more about MK vs controller. I don’t think the advantage is that great. I actually helped one person who was trying to use MK on console. He was absolutely horrible with a MK.

We tried dozens of different settings and he just could not get it to click. I think it was the aim assist. We finally got him to try a controller and mirror my settings. He instantly improved and after 3 rounds had a 2k.

I think the people who cheat want to be good. But they don’t have the patience to spend hundreds of hours building the skills for it.

So I'm pretty casual as a player. Lose far more often than win, takes me at least half an hour to 'warm up', and I'm not involved at all in the community or with streamers. My question is, does cheating happen a lot on console (XboxOne)? There have been a number of times recently, just in unranked/trios, where I'm left scratching my head:

    - Got massacred by someone using Gibraltar who somehow found me and shot/killed me in the middle of Bangalore's smokescreen

    - Got 3-shotted by someone whilst I was wearing purple armour; they were looting a deathbox when I started shooting them, so between them exiting the looting screen, finding out where I was an killing me seemed very quick.

    - Have peeople instandly shooting me when appearing from behind a rock, or around a corner

It's feasible, of course, that I'm against decent players. But it seemed to me that in the 1st and 3rd example, the opponent could see me wherever I was. In the 2nd example, it seemed like an incredibly 'fortunate' case of aiming - how can you be in a deathbox looting screen, come out, spin around and hit me three times (presumably in the head)?

Is this kind of cheating becoming quite consistent on console? If so, it's obviously going to impact whether i bother keep playing the game. Doesn't seem worth it if people cheat in unranked!!
