- @OneEyeYarric Saw a headline featuring this couple days ago...
It’ll likely be pricey so hopefully that’ll deter some players. Let’s just hope it won’t go ‘mainstream‘ - CCbathwater5 years agoSeasoned Ace
I hope it'll get EA or just SONY/Microsoft to take action. As I said earlier, the reason why many people play console is to avoid cheating like they face on PC. I doubt many, if any, of my PS Apex friends, who would've left if we couldn't opt-out on PC crossplay, would play Apex either if it ends up with PC style aimbotting and wall hacking anyway. I can't see myself play either tbh.
- @CCbathwater I’ll contest that “ As I said earlier, the reason why many people play console is to avoid cheating like they face on PC.” statement by saying that it’s most likely that they just prefer a controller in their hands or because they don’t want to spend hundreds upon hundreds just to upgrade their gear every (other (few)) year.
The beauty of consoles is, games just work. With pc you gotta think of drivers, minimal requirements, hacking, not becoming a fat blubbering pile of south park image person, carpel tunnel, upgrading your equipment, RGB and more. Consoles just work cause it’s highly optimized to run games. Sure pc can be tinkered with like tinkerbell (you pervert, I know what you’re thinking! You know who you are!) but they’ll never be as optimized to run games like a console if they have the same hardware unless you actually know your stuff and don’t just hardware replace stuff but also rewrite stuff on the inside!
but yea, hopefully it doesn’t catch on - @OneEyeYarric Saw this a couple weeks ago. It isnt really new, will be expensive and requires a PC connected. A lot of trouble to cheat really. Doubt it will be that prevalent really.
- @Koochi-Q I favor consoles for the reasons you mention plus the lack of cheating on consoles. I just dont see PC being worth the hassle.
Got my fingers crossed battlefield 6 takes the same route as apex. - CCbathwater5 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Koochi-QFair enough, that is the main part. But I wouldn't rule out the "less cheating" part either. For me that is almost equal to the "less hassle" part of a console. I know several of my PS friends feel the same.

Sometimes I wonder. SP is so cheap and ubiquitous, being available at the local gaming store. PC hacks have a bigger barrier of entry.. Would I rather face an aimbotter 1 match out of ten, or a strike packer 8 matches of of ten? Not sure, just thinking aloud and asking a question.
- @OneEyeYarric Not surprised. This is how I envisioned the next iteration in hacking. This looks like the type of hack that can even be used for cloud gaming and it will probably catch on an become more accessible in a few years. But this can also be detected with some clever AI.
Anyway, I hope to see machine learning used to create truly "smart" AI enemies and teammates, which will make single player, offline gaming great again. - CCbathwater5 years agoSeasoned Ace
Well, just read this. https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2021/07/auto-aim-cheat-maker-halts-development-at-activisions-request/
So it would seem things are being done to thwart attempts at ruining the income of big business.
- @CCbathwater oh yea definitely the ‘less cheater’ argument. I just thought that was a given so it need not be said xD. But that and the reasons included in my post are the main reason why alot of ppl I know do console gaming ever since middle school. Some also have gaming setups but hardly ever use it.
I came from pc gaming and while pc gaming is def more extreme, console is more accessible if you understand what I mean ;D
