I know some anime meme phrases and various Street Fighter special moves, so I'm nearly there.
@EA_David the only manga phrase I'm familier with is "Akira" 😃
When I bought the video cassette upon its release way back when, it came along with 2 original animation cells from the movie. I don't think I've come across a better manga film in all my years at sea.
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@OldTreeCreeper I didn't care for Akira cuz the story &plot was weird to me. It was hard to follow. Animation was dope tho.

@MandatoryIDtag It's a classic, but it's pretty intense watching at times. One of the first films to show young me that not all animation is for kids. Oh no.
@OldTreeCreeper @Lord_Scorpion34 To bring it back around to Apex, we have this really cool Valk fanart from Twitter - Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend

You can't be a real anime watcher & not have heard of this movie lol. Even though I didn't like it every anime person should watch it at least once. I watched it on Netflix or Hulu.
@EA_DavidI posted this in another thread lol

Thats no excuse! You were born so you could’ve watched it in the same year!
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@MandatoryIDtag That's a lame excuse lol. I've seen plenty of movies that came out before I was born lol. It's ok tho. At least you know now lol.
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@EdwardDLuffy Now that I've never heard of.

@Lord_Scorpion34 Ayeeeee, but the odds of stuff slipping through the net does increase somewhat haha. 😛
Fist of the North star is probably my favourite out of the oldies I've seen.
- 5 years ago@Lord_Scorpion34 Yeah, well I can forgive you for that one 😉
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@MandatoryIDtag What about Ghost in the Shell? Princess Mononoke? Spirited Away? Have you heard of these?
- AcidicSoda440315 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Lord_Scorpion34 I watched Ghost in The Shell with a friend of mine some years ago. Tho I do not remember it very well.
I definitely heard about Princess Mononoke. - 5 years ago@Lord_Scorpion34 Coming with classics! Ghost in a shell ppl nowadays know due to the movie that came out last year or 2 years ago
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@Koochi-Q That movie was 80-90% accurate, but I hated the casting choices.

@Lord_Scorpion34 a real oldie from way before you were born, that I've just watched with yt is "Dam Busters", he loved it and is now going to watch other b/w war movies with me.
@Lord_Scorpion34 haven't seen Princess mononoke but the other 2 aye. 😛
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@MandatoryIDtag Princess Mononoke was big because they had big name actors do the dub.
- Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@Koochi-Q I do love the Ghost series tho. Especially SAC. I still need to watch the other movies tho.
- AcidicSoda440315 years agoSeasoned Ace@Lord_Scorpion34 oh boi... the dub... not sure how many of you outside Italy are aware, but I heard about Princess Mononoke because of all the memes about the italian adaption being trash (which it is) Like trashy trash. The poor dubbers had to work with atrocious texts. And not just Princess Mononoke, but also other Studio Ghibli works. We simply had to put JAP/ENG subtitles to understand anything because that italian was simply not italian.
How they haven't fired the adaptor already is beyond me. Sad story we have to endure. - Lord_Scorpion345 years agoLegend@AcidicSoda44031 Yeah I never heard about that lol. I've wanted to visit & learn Italy but hasn't happened yet.

@Lord_Scorpion34 ok let me explain real quick: Studio Ghibli animes, along with Evangelion on Netflix, were adapted by Gualtiero Cannarsi. This man is well known over here for his unique way of adapting, that is, he just uses over complicated words no one uses, erronous syntax, etc... he just distorts the italian language all for the sake of being "faithful" to the original japanese counterpart, word for word. And this just resulted in hard-to follow dialogues and let me tell you, it is just icomprehensible gibberish to us.
Evangelion's dub was pulled from Netflix due to the numerous complaints. Even the dubbers themselves were embarassed, but its not their fault. Luckily it was reworked and reinstated at a later date.
I 100% guarantee you that no one in Italy speaks like this man adapts. Literally no one. I challenge you to find 1 single person that speaks like that. You can't.
Trust me, you are much more likely to find someone who still speaks Latin. Also you are much more likely to find some Aztec stripper Gods sleeping under the Colosseum... and that says it all! - OldTreeCreeper5 years agoHero+
@AcidicSoda44031 well now, amo amas amat 😃
(I was taught it in school)
- AcidicSoda440315 years agoSeasoned Ace@OldTreeCreeper I never heard about that. But I can tell you I immediately recognized what it means.
