I do not agree with the surrender option because who would decide that out of the 9 players on your team.
First off no game in this mode and for that matter Arena's also should not be allowed to start until 9 players on each side are filled.
Players that AFK or DC after the game starts should get a 10 minute timeout, go sit in the corner.
- @Asmodeus566 Most games with a surrender option use a voting system. Once the majority of remaining players vote to surrender, then surrender is called.
Ok yeah I forgot about that and it would work.
However first EA needs to fix the MM because I have played 5 games of Control and 3 of those started off with unbalanced (not full) teams at the go.
I really do not want to play Load in find out it is 7v9, 7v8 etc vote to surrender wash rinse repeat 6 out of 10 games.
- @Asmodeus566 Me & a couple of others did see this an issue as soon as the mode was announced. As soon as your 7v9 it's game over as the other team just bunkers down in 'Point' B and deals with anyone trying to get to the point near home base.
I don't know why Apex has such issues with quitters. In other games I play (which, I admit, is not many) the same problem does not seem to exist, although it is funny in 'Paladins' when you respawn next to someone just sitting there on a horse. I think part of the problem is the whole this is a team based game that rewards team based play so little but rewards individual stats so much more.
EA can start to fix this by doing certain things in Control that could drive the direction of the mode into a team play and objective orientated direction yet still award individual accomplishments.
A good start would be the stat trackers they decide to use my suggestion right now would be:
Captured control point tracker.
Neutralized control point tracker.
Control games won tracker.
A kill tracker for this mode would be counter productive as this would overly promote TDM vs Control type of playstyle.
- @EdwardDLuffy Every shooter has quitter issues. Cod and rogue I know for sure do. The difference is some games you don't really know it. Some games backfill the spot with a player that just queued in. Other games, like Rogue, change the player to a bot. You can tell they are a bot as they run about and shoot wildly but they do cause distraction which is better than no player at all.
- @EdwardDLuffy It can be annoying that in other games but here I don't mind so much, we get XP towards battlepass just for being involved and when you can only spawn at base with 9 enemies there pinning you in it's good practice for getting out of tight situations in BR mode.
- @hayhor I am a quitter in Rogue in that I played three games, quit, and never went back.
- @EdwardDLuffy lol why? It is pretty fun. They did footsteps perfectly in it. My only issue is it's 3rd person.
- @hayhor After Apex the guns feel like pea-shooters. I like the thud-thud-thud of the Spitty, or the 'plastic' feel of the Prowler.
I just didn't get the same 'feel', although that seems to be the case in most FPSs I play that aren't Apex it's the same.
