Crypto is underwhelming

I got 3 wins in ranked with crypto yesterday (didn't play much) and finally got to plat. He's GOOD, like REALLY good.

Not a single time a team hit by EMP survived and I didn't even hit good ones... But the main attraction is still the drone. Knowing everything is such a HUGE advantage.
P.S. That's playing with randoms. He would be even better with a team that's used to playing with him.

As for banner recovery, 1 of the 3 wins were obtained strictly because I got both banners with the drone (while the enemies were actually looting the boxes XD). It IS extremely useful.

And I completely disagree that his abilities become less useful in lategame, I'd say the exact opposite. Gather the intel when you have good spot (e.g., secured a house), note where EVERYONE is (the important part of using crypto for this is that you find ppl who are not moving or shooting - those are VERY hard to find without the drone) - that's crucial to an easy win (e.g., in 1 of the games, knowing exactly where 2 solos and a full squad is allowed us to 3rd party the full squad when they engaged with a solo, essentially securing an easy win).

And then use EMP on the final fight to put the win in the bag. So far I tried to not EMP myself (I don't mind hitting teammates - they get only mild effects), but I think the best play in endgame is actually put a quick drone and EMP everyone, including self (drop and pick up the armor for bonus points).

P.S. Learn the charge time of the EMP and make sure it goes off as soon as you get into position, not giving enemies any chance to shoot the drone.

Just wait untill both your squadmates are down in ranked, and you're trying to heal but a police drone is literally wallhacking your exact spot to his team mates, and you realize you cannot recover at all.

Even in city environments, this thing is 10x faster than you, and follows you around, if you stop to turn and shoot at it, enemy player catches up to you and you're also dead.

If you're low health and being chased by a drone, you're effectively check mate.

Just reached 100 kills with him last night, I only play with randoms.

It makes it that much more easier if the team communicates, or hears me talking lol.

Coming around corners, I always deploy my drone, having the element of surprise on your side helps a lot.

The banner recovery option with randoms is a god sent lol.

Love opening doors and crates with said drone for loot, saves me running around clueless for good loot....I do wish the drone could ping items tho, that would be amazing for my team.

As you can tell, I'm a team player first and foremost, which is probably why I really enjoy playing Crypto.

Crypto is NOT underwhelming at all!

As @Gabrielmojo26 stated,i feel I am more of a team player rather than that aggressive solo who pushes first and dies

Thus,crypto suits my support from behind kind of playstyle,and that's why im maining him now

Also provided that I suck at shooting,so I can instead use my drone to help out my better teammates,instead of giving up my position and dying first

@SS_Mabezan  xD  Yes, I tried Crypto out because someone used my main, Wattson. I only used him twice prior. Messing around with his drone I used the capabilities that I wasn't too aware of. I must say that I quick on my judgment. He isn't all that bad. I picked up banners and love messing around with people hacking doors open and shut. This diverts enemy attention giving my squad the jump for an assault. The sourness probably came from other players that were just joy riding the drone around and not doing too much with helping out. My new outlook probably has a lot of others smiling. So yes, he isn't that underwhelming.

@Fingrpistols  This is what i originally thought "door hacking" was before release....seems nonsensical to refer to opening a door as a hack. XD

@MandatoryIDtag  It's plausible. If the locks are electronic and you're opening via drone instead of ones own hand would that not count as a hack?
