@Peri_Longbow_plzOh, I can answer you this one 🙂
You are worse than the guy going 200m away because you've already drawn the conclusion that he's not a team player, while there's a chance that he is and knows well how to support his team even from that distance.
If you want to be better, stop judging and jumping to conclusions. Be more patient, communicate more, try to look at things more objectively.
Now there are situations that happen sometimes like say 6 teams is dropping in the same POI, then it's common sense to tell the team to back out to a nearby POI. If they don't, that's a different story. Again doesn't happen every game. Very extreme situation. Not enough to validate your stance.

Jeez u guys are quite the chatties, I'm too lazy to read 3 pages of text lol, but anyway regarding abandon penalty, the cooldown before you can leave could be really short, so that there at least is some kind of penalty, even if it's only 10 seconds after you die..
What do I mean by that? First 10 seconds after you die you get penalty, after 10s you won't.

There is literally a much more simple way to make this work. With systems like "You can't enter another match for X minutes" or even loss of XP which I'm not sure how it would work considering leveling up provides Legend Token and/or Apex loot boxes, you have a high chance of punishing people wrongfully. Especially with the current connection issues, it happens quite a few times that I end up alone or only with a second person in a squad. Which itself isn't bad but let's be honest, that other guy might also have only had a crash, and now gets punished for it.
Simply give the squad that was left behind a buff for the match. Like 10% incoming damage reduction for 1 person and 20% incoming damage reduction for 2 persons missing. Minor enough to not encourage or influence balance, major enough for squads that were left behind to still turn something into their favor. Plus, for the upcoming no-fill mode it would be another way to compensate for a proper lack of solo mode.
If you really wanna punish the people who leave frequently, simply attach a stat on their public viewable profile that shows the abandon ratio.
- 5 years ago@Peri_Longbow_plz Ranked has a feature called 'loss forgiveness' that let's you leave with no RP loss if you get only one teammate/get a connection issue. That's not your fault if you wish to leave, so that's beside the point. Same feature in pubs so you won't be punished for that.
