Disadvantage on purpose?
I know this is gonna sound absurd to some people.. Why is it that opponents seem to move so quickly and fluently but it feels like I'm stuck in quicksand? How do they catch up to you so quickly whe...
If you can, it's worth recording your gameplay. That way you can review suspicious stuff, and send on anything weird. You probably want to turn on the performance panel too, even a minor difference in ping can really affect the feel of a game as fast as this.
A lot of the time questionable stuff can be explained clearly when watched without the adrenaline and pressure of being in a match. There are also times when things are bugged, or people get a big lag spike and something crazy happens as the local prediction and the server data sync back up, and we're happy to look at those examples.
You might not believe me, as I'd be "in on it", but I don't think any merit to such theories.
I do want to thank you for phrasing it in a questioning manner, it's not uncommon for misinformation to confidently stated as fact, and that sort of thing helps nobody.
Thanks for your reply. I do see where you are coming from. We know that the servers for Apex aren't the best, we know things like ping / packet loss / line stability / jitter can mess with gameplay. But if nothing changed on my side that could potentially affect me negatively why is my experience with general things like movement so bad at times? And I'm not talking about a game or two, this can last for a couple of matches to hours to days at a time. Switching servers doesn't help when this happens. In game ping is stable throughout.
Sometimes I can feel it improving slowly to the point where the next match everything feels super responsive and sharp. And that's when I realize how other people rack up such high kill counts and wins, the game literally becomes easier. Effortless almost.
It made me wonder if some players are purposely given an advantage or disadvantage in this regard.
If it's an issue of a server that's under strain or something else server related shouldn't everyone on that server experience the same issue? And I would expect switching servers to offer some improvement but it doesn't. I've switched isp's 4 times over the last 2 years with no notable difference.
