Disinformation: Unique way to battle ESP cheats?

My proposal: Generate a ton of player models and stick them inside of game-level objects (e.g. inside hills, below terrain, inside rocks, thick walls, mountains, etc).

They could move like actual players might (e.g. from previously recorded games and then offset so they are below the playable terrain). Or, could just be standing, squatting, turning, aiming, jumping in a limited space.

At a distances, ESP cheats would see so many fake players vs real players that the disinformation would make the cheat effectively useless. Imagine running towards a squad you think is in a tunnel only to realize they were disinformation characters.

It also allows Apex to detect cheating. For example, cheaters will ADS look at rock faces where a false-squad is moving and tracking them as they move!

Who knows, maybe it's a horrible idea. But it would be interesting to prototype and test against existing cheats.

  • This is a very good idea on paper, i wonder how it'll function from a technical standpoint? Also how would you prevent hackers from simply spawning as a disinformation character and winning by doing nothing?

Would it put too much pressure on servers? Would it spike the system requirements? Things like that.

Plus like mirages bamboozle it'll become useless as one goes. A hacker is gonna learn that those aren't real peeps eventually.
