Do We Really Need Hop Ups?

I've been thinking about this lately. Them getting rid of choke & putting on the weapons was one of the best decisions they made. And now I'm wondering if we need hop-ups at all? Like why not just slap em on everything? It's one less thing you have to look for when putting together your weapon. For weapons with dual hop up slots just keep the gold & ditch the purple ones. I know no one that uses Select Fire on a Havoc anyway.

The problem is a lot of weapons are gimped without a hop up.

G7 and EVA are pretty useless without double tap unless its the first 2 minutes of the match.  And then without one, they are awful.  P2202 same thing as mentioned.

Fast draw is really not so amazing, and definitely not a replacement for skull piercer on the wingman.

Old wingman people thought was OP because...oh no...someone hit you with aim.  Now a wingman just isn't good at all with hit reg problems unless it has the skull piercer.  And then, really, you're still better off with other guns.

A Longbow without skull piercer? Lel

A Moz with or without after the first 2 minutes? lel.

So...with the state of weapons the way they are now, yes, pretty much, everything that needs a hop up should come with one.  The only exception to the rule is the spin up for energy weapons.  It's the only hop up in the game I can see makes a weapon much better.  Again, tho, since the Havoc nerf, that weapon is once again bad...and you also shouldn't have to decide between a spin up and a select fire like it was for a while (gone since Prowler, I believe).

Attachments are something I'm not generally a fan of, anyway, in Apex.  But if you have them, they should be common across many types of weapons, such as barrel mods, sights, stocks and magazines are now. I don't even think I ping most hop ups anymore for team mates because it isn't worth it.

@KelRiever Most people do not use the double tap on either gun. This is why it is being removed. Both guns are still viable if used properly.
