Do you ever forget you’re in a party by yourself..

You see your team has mics.. you can’t figure out why your mates won’t communicate with you. You’re getting frustrated.. go through 2-3 rounds, check your mic out make sure it’s working.. 2-3 more rounds and your friend joins.. you’re sitting there questioning whether or not you should be screened for dementia... wondering how much damage that fall from 3 stories that happened almost 20 years ago did to your brain..

  • @DarthValtrex I think I had this once but it wasn’t that those rando’s were talking. I wanted to berate them and felt smug that I got away with it and they didn’t say anything back when suddenly a buddy got into my party half an hour later and realized: damnit, no wonder they said nothing back. I was in party chat!
  • Lmao regularly,

We was getting flanked yesterda by another squad,I'm pinging i ping em and start calling out we're being flanked by another team, no response (they're too busy sniping another team)

So i start yelling wtf you doing turn around etc etc and realise my mics turned off after we get bumped.

Moral of the story is that i'm an idiot. XD

it happens to me on the PS4, on the official on the headset aside from regular volume control their is normal increase and decrease volume button, their as another set for game volume or chat volume, which affect ingame chat also. when I play a single player game i raise the game volume at max, later when I play apex I totally forget about that, so when I join a game, I can clearly see that they are talking and i try to talk to, but can't hear a thing, after a min or two I remember I have to increase that chat volume, it's so embarrassing that I was screaming I can't hear a screaming at them to raise their voice or fix their mics.

  • @DarthValtrex No not a party but sometimes I forget when I've muted opponents due to their idiotic sounds and then wonder why I cant hear the next team I am on.

@MandatoryIDtag I do this all the time. Not sure what's more embarrassing, forgetting to turn mic on or taking 10 rounds to realise.

All those pleasant things I said that were never heard. :P
  • It happens when I switch between World's Edge and King's Canyon ranked.

World's Edge is a larger, far more strategic map.  I have my mic on, or at least am listening to the team mates.  Basically, working together as the game was intended.

On KIng's Canyon, which is for people who like to twitch shoot and die in 30 seconds after drop, the best way to raise your rank is to drop alone and leave your team mates to die.  You can top 5 on that map alone, with no weapons.  So I'll mute my team mates from the get go, so I'm not lured into an early death with pleas for help after they drop in the lab :P

I'll forget if a team mate actually follows me and we're going to end up top 5 together.  Will have to go back and reactivate the mic then, sometimes.  But usually, by then, we also don't need to talk because we each know what's up with that map.
