i remember this happened on the game overwatch. i could reproduce the bug by using ultra graphics quality on the highest resolution i had at the time 1080p. i fixed it by using a lower resolution and video quality.
they talk about it here;
"
***I got a work around, downgrade the video ALL THE WAY DOWN then launch game and turn video back up. Stupid but it worked (res, hz and sync etc) again, more than the min spec pc here...
OK update:
I passed a point in the story (1 hr or 2 in) maybe and it launches just fine.
This needs to be stickied.
This worked like a charm. 60+ FPS @ 1080P with everything cranked to maximum. Just set the video quality to "lowest" before starting and then crank it back up from within the game. Those settings will be saved and (if it's anything like my experience), the game will then start properly from that point onward. "

see, its the video quality its too much.
i have a 4k tv, and a gtx 1060, i bet if i played at 4k resolution and max video settings i could replicate this bug and record it on geforce experience video showing the crash.
maybe ill do that now brb.
i set my resolution to 4k on my desktop and in the game. highest video settings, and i played 2 games and it didn't crash on me.
i use msi afterburner with a custom fan setting that kept my gpu cool at 59 degrees. cpu temperature stayed at 62 degrees, cpu usage 27 percent, and the ram used for 4k was 10782mb. gpu usage was 100 percent.
my pc has 16gb ddr4? and a ryzen 3600x? maybe my pc is too tough to crash but all i got was 15 fps. so i dunno, maybe i'm wrong or maybe at stock fan settings the high video quality fries the gpu.
