EA have realeased cross play... way to ruin the game.

Cross play is stupid and shouldn't be allowed into games unless it just console to console. Xbox vs PlayStation. Nintendo switch players will be at a huge disadvantage the same way console players are going to be at a disadvantage against pc players. I stopped playing fortnite and call of duty because I couldn't switch off cross play, are you going to add a feature in that lets me switch it off or am I gonna have to find another new game to play? I'm bit annoyed at this because I have spent a lot of money on apex packs and skins etc.

@Lordstuart12I don't know if its going to ruing the game. I'll admit it makes me nervous, especially with the reports of high amounts of cheating on PC. That aside, what if EA/Respawn pull this off successfully? What if console players can compete and it's a fun, fair competitive environment for everyone?

I think it would be fairly awesome in that instance. If I decide to switch from xbox over to PS5, I don't have to worry about not having the ability to game with my xbox friends. So I have trouble seeing how that would be an issue.

Let's see how it plays out and if it works.

As a PC player....i do hope it's console to console and NOT console to PC.....
Besides the cheaters, PC would have too much advantage over console.....and any "boost" to console to try and make up that disadvantage would do nothung but stir up more controversy....
As much as I would love to play with my stepson on console.....it would be too unfair.....

@DarthValtrex I can see your reasoning behind that but at the same time what if it doesn't work out? I do think the cross play between consoles would work but just exclude the pc players.

@DrenMadre I have to agree with you. I wouldnt console to console but pc players have so many advantages even with the 2 new consoles coming out, pcs are better in every way. Pc players in general are the words best players ita just alot easier for them to control recoil, set macros etc

@Lordstuart12 I want to pop in and clarify, your title isn't quite right, it's been announced but not released/implemented.

As for when it goes live, we don't have details yet on what options will be available, but i do know in other cross-play games of ours it's an opt-in system and not obligatory.

I apologise for not using the correct terminology but I do hope that's opt in only or maybe just be able to out of of playing against pc and leave it as consoles only? Can you forward that to the devs?

@Lordstuart12 Who even thought it was a good idea to add crossplay between PC and Consoles? Just thinking about it, it's going to be one hard thing to balance. KBM(mostly pc players) would have a big advantage over controller(mostly console players) and the only way I can see it being balanced out is by giving controller better aim-assist but then if you give them too much aim-assist KBM players would feel cheated.

i mean, from what I am hearing, the crossplay is optional, so they wouldn't have to balance around it

@EA_David I thought it will be released next Tuesday.... Damn....we got bambozled.
Anyway, we should have this options for cross play:
Disabled - Console - PC - Switch (you can press multiple platform so you can decide which cross play you willing to play).
For most case:
1. console player will only select Disabled or "Console".
2. Switch player will only select Disabled, or Switch.
3. PC Player will try to select Console and Switch, but they only can nuts console player who crazy enough to kill themself.

Here's another important tidbit. Refresh rates are very important in shooters. The higher it is the more smooth gameplay is. Consoles cap at 60 while PC can cap from 144 to 200+.
Console Apex also has texture issues when looking into the distance, while PC has ways to alleviate it.
