Eliminating Accounts

I want to start off by saying that I feel Respawn needs to take action with accounts that are lower than level 50 with little to no gameplay and here is why. It has been brought to my attention that hackers/cheaters do not  worry about the bans thay you guys roll out simply because they have thousands of accounts waiting on standby just in case you ban the one they are currently using which does absolutely nothing to those cheaters. Is there a way to add another security measure as to not allow someone more than one account to play on? If cheaters can just load up another account and continue playing, it just did absolutely nothing to dwindle their numbers down or even prevent them from doing it again. I have seen that you guys are working on advancing your anti-cheat but it'll mean nothing if they can just keep making new accounts and doing it all over again.

  • Aballister1987 On one hand, deleting low level accounts does make sense, however on the other hand, there is a ton of legit players that would be upset if they were to come back to the game and find that their account had been deleted.

I personally have a few friends who are below level 50 that sometimes play Apex, (they are very busy with work, taking care of their kids, etc.), and I know they would be upset when they finally get to log in, and they find out that their progress was deleted.

  • Easy: One account per device and a cap on the number of devices per IP address. And you can't set up an account without an active email, active phone number, and possibly even an active google or apple account.

But secondaries make the player count look much higher than it really is and EA shareholders put a lot of stock in appearances. Because they don't know anything about gaming. So don't expect the problem to go away any time soon. Or ever.

  • I think it's more smurfs you are referring too.

It gets tiring seeing "Revenant1223" smashing you over and over.

Bottom line is I don't know what can be done about this.  It's down to children just being  a crap human being for their jollies.  Match making can only do so much.  I, too, see this over and over again.  The problem is people.  To those doing this (and some of you must be here) you suck has human beings.  What is wrong with you?  Mommy not give you enough love?

They will find out in the real world.  As someone in their 50s I can tell you this entitled world viewpoint won't get you far.  Good luck with that.  And, if I might add, you deserve absolutely everything you get.

  • One thing is hackers, other and potentially bigger issue is nowadays quite popular and successful business of boosting. Would not be surprised if latter would have more/most profiles in queue given their time matter and the more they boost over X hours the more money they make = they are basically incentivized to cheat even more so because their clients are people who knowingly want to get rewards they don't deserve otherwise = cheating system. So they don't care if they are boosted by current Pro just making some side $ or pure rage hacker.

And unfortunately EA/Respawn does not care about that - example: I reported dude who streamed on Twitch with clear wallhack and potential softbot. AND his Twich profile even had clear link to boosting website and discord (operational, joined discord, signed up for boosting (without doing it) - all works smooth and fast). => my report result - dude is till playing and streaming :)

Only way to clamp down on this:

    1. clearly state what is smurfing (EA still has vague rules for it)
    2. not allow Bronze to Pred runs for TTVs and Pros
    3. monitor RP gain per day in ranked / average kill, damage in pubs -> flag and manual review people who fall out of normal range (starting from extreme cases like 30KP per game or 1000+ RP per day in top ranks)
    4. finally implement something that would solve PC hacking on mass / automated detection level

Until then unfortunately this game is paradise for hacks and exploits and quite known for its weak ability / willingness to do much about it. Would be nice to see how many accounts are banned for hacking vs trash-talking in chat or forums, would not be surprised if numbers would be comparable.

You forgot to add a few things to your list:

Point 2 should not just be relegated to just Pros or TTVs etc. but for all.

Detecting all that crazy hardware etc that controller players use to cheat.

Detecting Controller software cheats and Macros.
