I'm fairly certain degenerative strategies refers specifically to hot dropping and ultra aggression as you will notice he refers to more teams lasting longer being preferred.
Either way all I read was a bunch of fluff in a fluff piece claiming play is still high when we know it isnt.
I believe the technical term for the content of this interview is "nothing burger."

yes @pandareno1999 @it looks like a lot of nothing at first but as you can see there is acknowledgment that mm and ranked needs to be further adjusted and we can already see they are doing that. I mean who would have thought that they would make an adjustment to ranked during the middle of a season. That they have done so, in a small way, shows how important it is. We will see further adjustments at the beginning of S14 as well.
@Asmodeus566 if this small mid season adjustment does not attract players back to ranked, then it will be a big adjustment for the start of S14. They have already shot themselves in the foot and lost loads of players from ranked, it will be a much more difficult thing to attract them back after stopping. Small isn't the word you want to be hearing really.
Imo to get back to S12 player numbers (if they are lucky) they will have to swollow their dev pride and put the points back to S12 for up to and including diamond.
And perhaps include opinion from more than the top 1% of players in their decision making process. They need to engage with the majority of the player base with more than a short questionnaire asking "did you enjoy the game you just played" yes no.... That gives no real input.
Like i said we will see additional adjustments to ranked come the beginning of S14 however I do not think they need to rollback to S12 in any real shape way or form.
I agree that more than the top 1% should have input value but there are so many players at all levels that can not think beyond themselves or have no real input value that it makes this hard on the devs.
maybe they should look at the boards and see who posts what to get a feel for their value and ask those people for input. CM’s need to push this forward to highlight those that are fighting for the betterment of this game for all the players and EA/Respawn.
- @Asmodeus566 Who would think they'd make an adjustment mid season? Me. With the huge change to start the season it was only inevitable they'd have to change things mid season. The issue is the adjustment isn't enough. I'm very concerned that the loss of viewers and players will continue.
I am glad you saw it coming. I hoped it would. I also hope it is not to little to late. I do think the direction is right with ranked just needs a scale back.
