everyone, put on your tin foil hat

it's time for some conspiracy theory thread (just for fun) ....not

I've noticed something which I mentioned when arenas got released.

the thing is that every time there is a new mode or an event the game feels so easy when playing that event.

everything feels so smooth, the matchmaking is balanced, and weapons and movement feel right, in simple words, the game feels FUN

In terms of aim specifically, I still remember when I played areas for the first time.

In the first 10 matches or so, I literally was able to clip anyone who come in my way.

the game felt so nice, it was letting me win and honestly, it was fun to some extent, fast forward to this season.

I am not saying I am a decent apex player, just maybe a little close to half decent.

the other day I wanted to play control which I played only for a few matches since they released this mode.

will give some stats before I continue, I average 1 or two kills per match and average 8 % win rate with 1.6-lifetime KDR so nothing crazy.

so after being away from control for a long time, I thought to play one match of control to warm up.

I picked up the R301 and you can say I just destroyed everyone I encountered, 90% of my kills were 1 clip.

I wasn't even missing a shot, the crazy thing is I wasn't even trying, all easy kills and no sweat it felt like I don't even have to aim.

got 25 kills with 9 assists and 5000 + damage.

and I want to mention that all 9 assists should have been my kills if it wasn't for my teammate literally standing in front and taking most of my shots and stealing my kill with less than 30 HP.

after the match, I was thinking " wow, how did I do that, it was super easy"

so I switch to BR, same server, same controller, and same settings, so I picked the R 301.

maxed it out but guess what, I was having a hard time hitting half of my clip.

so what changed, how did the performance swing this way, is it possible that they crank up the aim assist sometimes?

or let's say during event times to make people feel that this mode is fun?

is it just luck, and how come something like this repeats during events?

did anyone encounter this before? (someone mentioned the same thing after introducing arenas by the way).

and someone else said " wait for two days and everything will go back to normal "

is it possible that Respawn can TUNE accounts or a group of accounts and assist them to win or pull them down to lose?

let me know what you guys think

and excuse my excellent English

  • @maximas1986My first game of control was 4k damage on people that lacked movement and aim. Then the sbmm kicked in and now the lobbies are always diamond and up. It is a lot harder to one clip someone who can move well.

The game isn't functioning better the first few matches. Take a closer look at your opponents.

As for comparing a small mode to BR- BR has 3x the amount of players. Ping is significantly better as matchmaking is easier because less people are required. The maps are smaller so there are less resources needed.

I've experienced this in every competitive shooter I've ever played. Just as @hayhor said, this is exactly the effect that skill-based matchmaking produces. Everything feels right, right up until everything starts feeling wrong even though nothing has changed. Only it has. Instead of playing against the bottom 30% now you're playing against the top 50%, and it's a whole different ball game.

Plus of course there's all the interference from the chip the FBI put in my brain.

  • One thing I have noticed is that I win my 'first game of the day' far more often than I ought to. According to my stats I should win about 1 in 15, but it's something like 1 in 3 (not that I keep accurate records).

@EdwardDLuffyI guess I’m on the raw end of that, who do you think gets punished when others have good luck ☹️
They’ve put me in the carry-your-teammates-but everyone-else-is-a-pred lobbies. I’ll be giving out wingman headshots, and my teammate with a flatline will be painting the enemy a nice outline.

  • @maximas1986 You ever play FIFA soccer or NHL ?
You know where you play (doesn't matter what difficulty) and you have 50 shots by the end of the game and 1 goal, but the computer has 7 shots and 6 goals to beat you 7 -1?
Then your next game, you have 10 shots and 8 goals and the computer has 30 shots and 1 goal.....?
Its kinda like that. : )
Tis be the OEMM side of things. Enjoy.
