Thoughts:
-Multiple times Daniel Z Klien on Reddit has said they don't really get good data from LTMs as a way to influence the standard Apex modes, so I guess they're trying to solve that problem by making the LTM part of Standard Apex. Odd.
-Pathfinder Town Takeover, great, great, an area that's melee only, a super janky feature that doesn't function as well as it should is being advertised as a new event instead of, you know, making a new event. Guess they got tired of recycling old events, but couldn't be bothered to actually make a new one. It's a collection event too, so it's kind of obvious where the effort got put into.
-Gibralter Heirloom is nice.
-Loot MRVNs, oh boy another useless gimmick. Loot Ticks 2.0. How exciting. (/s)
-Rampart Buff doesn't solve her core issue, which is that every part of her kit is slow to deploy. Walls get destroyed immediately, set-up time for minigun is too long, spin-up time for minigun is too long, amped shield takes too long to deploy on top of the fact that walls can be insta-destroyed. Hayhor will be happy with the Caustic buff.
-Mastiff changes say to me, "We're spreading out the 3rd and 4th pellets to +/- (plus or minus) 10 (10 what is beyond me) off the center, to make 3-4 pellet hits on a target happen at a closer distance than before. AKA, Mastiff effective range got decreased." Respawn saw the countless threads of, "We're struggling to hit at close range with multiple pellets of the Mastiff" and went, "Struggle no more! Now you have to get even closer! Buy our 18 dollar skins!"
QoL Changes:
-Ulti-Accels and the "Mark All As Seen" are not things to praise Respawn for which is 100% due to their tardiness. 7 Seasons we've waited for those changes. 2 basic features which have been asked for since the game came out, happened 683+ DAYS LATER. These are basic QoL changes that should've shipped when the game was released, but just didn't, and we got to wait a whopping 683 DAYS for them to be released. I probably could've learned from scratch how to do that myself in the same time it took them to do this.
-So instead of allowing people to ping locations on the map normally even while dead, Respawn came up with this complicated system that measures time to use vs. ring location vs. closest / "safest" beacon. At this point I feel like if I asked Respawn to boil pasta, they'd somehow create an MSR (Molten Salt Reactor) a type of Nuclear Fission Reactor to boil the ocean to skip salting the water.
Bug Fixes:
-Mirage's DECOYS got footstep audio before ACTUAL PLAYERS. And people say he's the worst Legend. Ha!
I like the event so far. What I don't care for is the cost of crafting items in the event shop.
If you get crafting materials from a legendary item in a pack, you only receive 600 materials, which is only 50% of what's required to craft another legendary item. When it comes to event skins I understand they are more expensive, but 2400 materials?! That basically adds up to a cost of 4 duplicate legendary items. If that were Apex coins it would essentially be charging 4800 apex coins for a single event skin. yet the cost difference in Apex Coins is only 600 more!?
At most the crafting expense for event items should only be 1800 crafting materials. 2400 crafting materials makes no sense. 1800 is still insanely expensive for those who do have 1800 crafting materials. That's basically receiving 3 duplicate legendary items from Apex Packs to get 1800 crafting materials or purchasing and saving all the crafting materials from 2 seasons.
If a person spends $1200 on apex packs they get no duplicate items. They would get around 88-89 legendary items. Yet if half their packs provide duplicate legendary items, they will only end up with about 66 legendary items. They would get 44 legendary items from packs and 26,400 shards for the duplicate legendary items they received, enough to craft 22 legendary items. If they go for event items it's even worse they only get 11 legendary items. While I would agree the expense of crafting event items should be higher, it should match the Apex Coin price difference, not be 4x higher...
1800 Apex coins for an event legendary, 1200 Apex Coins for a standard legendary item
2400 crafting materials for an event legendary item, 1200 crafting materials for a standard legendary item.
The pricing with the crafting materials makes absolutely no sense and ultimately punishes the games biggest spenders.

- 5 years ago@Lord_Scorpion34 And that open back with the hearth...
Then i go look at my baby Rampart and that's even worse, basically a epic skin with the light effects and grandma eye shadow.
