"But I know you're drooling waiting on this response -"
I sipped at my afternoon wine, the feelings of concern and curiosity stirring into the hollow of my chest as I anticipated the math that would come forth. For some time, I knew that there was something off about the Apex Legends matches I had been in. Had @sbr-saber cracked the enigma of this? Would I finally have a concise and true understanding of what plagued my every waking moment, and shuddered my limbs with fear as I logged into each match?
"45 Data Centers / 1300 cheaters = 28 Cheaters per server at any given moment," read the last of the text.
I sighed, partially with relief, and partially with pity. As the breath escaped my lips, my mouth conjured the only thing that encapsulated all of my emotions at once.
"Damn," I said quietly to myself, realizing that the answer would remain elusive. Saber, in his infinite wisdom, believed that there were only 45 servers-- 45 matches at any given time around the world. I calmed myself, as I had realized two things:
Firstly, that I would have to continue on in search of the answer that would likely elude me until at least the next time I uninstalled Apex, likely an action born of rage and incompetence. But secondly, and more importantly, I wouldn't ever be as confidently incorrect as Saber was in this moment.
I picked my wine back up, sipping at the dry merlot that tasted of bitter irony, and continued looking onward, wondering if the answer may instead lay within a bald Wraith skin.
