Gold ranked is so wierd
Random teammates skill level is worse than pubs but enemy skill level is greater than pubs. Don't you just love this game!

- @Marge010 Went through gold very easily. In my experience your teammates suck and most of your enemies too. I had to sweat a little if it’s a 3 stack ex-diamond up players or your typical smurf squad.
Best advice I’ve gotten from the forums throughout the years is to always think for yourself and leave random teammates behind if they’ve made a dumb decision.
This is the first time I’ve been playing apex a lot as a solo (usually in a premade) and I can now empathize with the complaints of soloQ players. 🤣 Late split it tends to be swarming with smurf setups in gold, so you get all the other suckers who just try get through gold on your team and you meat 6-10 smurf teams every lobby. Was that last season when we started levling late, felt like platinum. This season early split it was easy as pie.
@Zkepz Really? Maybe it's different for PS or I haven't played ranked enough lately. For me ranked is the most difficult after the start of a new season until the good players reach their spot above me. Towards the end of a season I'm struggling not to hit Diamond as I wonder why I'm no longer stuck in the perpetual Plat 4 - Plat 3 loop. Maybe it gets hard for the last day or two but I don't notice since I treat Ranked casually?
- @Marge010 Well I made it up into Diamond IV playing with nothing but randoms. Gold is not that difficult IMO. It gets hard in Platinum. That said, what guns are you using? What legends?

First week a little bit perhaps, we more or less leveled up from scratch this season and one of the changes this season is that you dont start from scratch anymore start season 🙂 That means the low ranks clear much faster, its mostly the first week, then you get a good few weeks before the smurfs come. That is very pleasant and gold was a pure joy this season to be honest. I think most of the smurfs try to stay in gold now, Last season gold was much worse then plat 4 in the end of 2nd split, We finally got a full team last season so we tried to level up last split in the end to see how we played together and my god it was an interesting experience, bronze and silver as as ever but gold was insane, I started 2nd guessing my skills at some point so we decided to take break from ranked and try from the start of season, and without changing anything we went straight to plat within 2 weeks of casual play and was climbing plat until we met a new challenge that is outside the game, so rinse repeat next season I guess hehe, well get to do a full season next season I think, but in general that is my observations.
