@pastaclown Just saw this.
Ive enjoyed each in their own way. Enough to complete most of the challenges for them anyway.
1. I was expecting gold shields and gold everything in Gold Rush. Clearly that didn't happen. It was nice to have duos back and I got some time to practice with the Kraber and the Mastiff. I eventually settled on the G7 and Mastiff combo and was able to have some fun, but firefights didn't last long. I enjoyed normal duos more.
2. Live. Die. Live. took a while to grow on me. It was maybe 5 matches in before I actually respawned in. Once you get the flow and your team learns to run from third parties and hide out until you respawn it becomes slightly more fun, but it never reached its full potential. The last ring would be pretty chaotic some times, but it took a lot of running and hiding to get there.
3. I enjoyed Third Person more than I thought I would. Finding friends online that felt the same was hard though. It was cool to be able to look around cover and see your skins in action, but it never felt as smooth as normal Apex. I had fun, but I would opt for First Person almost every time if we were given the choice.
4. I loved the constant closing ring. It made everyone feel rushed and in a panic even though the ring was easily outrun. I had some great matches just running with the ring and wiping squads as they fought with each other and the final ring chaos was crazy. We had 7 squads in the final ring once and it was usually 5 or 6. Choosing your drop zone was super important and knowing where the final ring was let you build a plan and execute it.
5&6. Im looking forward to A&D as well as Kings Canyon. I liked A&D and Im excited to try it again with better skills with shotguns and snipers as well as on the new map. Everyone reminiscing about KC has got me excited to hot drop and get frantic, but the night aspect makes visibility less. I didn't enjoy the Fright even that much for that reason. There are some great things they could do with this game, and I think they will. Each season and its events should build on the previous one. If they shoot their best and biggest ideas off first then it starts to fall flat. I think they are doing a decent job of giving us new ways to play and rehashing old ways to play while building up lore and excitement for whats to come. Im not huge into skins, but I have spent some money here and there. They are definitely getting better and better with their skins. I hope that they are working on issues instead of just skins, but who knows what their real approach is. If it was just Respawn I would have more faith, but EA has no good faith from me.
7. Im excited and curious for this mode. It has a lot of potential to check a lot of peoples boxes. Will it? We will have to wait and see. There is a lot of potential in the game and I can see how it has been dragging on while issues still linger. It is disheartening to see, but it has also continued to grow and expand. Maybe not at the pace we would like to see, but it is becoming more with each season. I like the idea of being along for the journey and experiencing the growth of the game, the highs and lows, before finally meeting its final shape. It will mean a lot more in the end then if it was just the end mode. I know its not going to be my cup of tea all the time, but I will enjoy what I can. I really hope they take the effort to upgrade servers and fix their cor code issues, but I understand its a huge undertaking and hard to justify while the game is still carrying on and making money. Hopefully Respawn still loves their game and is working towards something amazing that fulfills all the possibilities of what this game could be. I would love to fight some titans with my friends. We will have to see where the story goes.
