Wish I could have liked that a hundred times.
Multi-factor authentication is the single most important thing they can do right now. But the fact they're about to gamble their half-billion dollar BF6 without it tells me that in some way they depend on one single player having multiple accounts. Whether to inflate player counts or give cheaters a way back into the game... I couldn't say. Maybe it's for some other reason I haven't even thought of yet. Doesn't matter. BF6 is doomed to fail just like Apex, and I'll wager it doesn't take six years to happen either.
You know man, we have different ideas of failure.
Is the game slowly dying from Churn? Sure.
Is it a failure? Not at all. They made money hand over fist with the predatory loot boxes and power of the FOMO.
It succeeded at doing exactly what it was supposed to do. Feed types 4 and 5 to types 1 and 2 streamers so the type 3 try hard whales would spend money to be cool like their idols. It was a rousing success by that metric.

You're absolutely right. Financially speaking this game has been, and probably continues to be, a spectacular success. But how much money have they left on the table because they can't control the cheating problem and because they continue to allow secondaries to undermine their matchmaker? It's a lot. And the real kicker is that Andrew Wilson KNOWS THIS. It's why, no matter how much money Apex makes, he wants more. He was expecting more. He was telling his shareholders that there would be more. You would think he has as much interest in ending secondaries and cheaters as we do. And yet....
