How often do you encounter these types of randoms?

@pandareno1999 Lol I would have left when you punched me. The whole we gotta wait for people to loot their kills mentality players have has to stop. In a game of 3rd partying you need to loot quickly.

@CCbathwater Lifeline having a particular voice line is irrelevant. It’s just a voice line, there to represent her personality. It’s also the main reason people believe that that’s the purpose of this mechanic. Which speaks to the general greed that people possess. The mechanic is clearly there to highlight items on the map so you know it’s exact location. It’s not there to claim ownership on things

If you ping that you’re in need of a heavy mag, and I subsequently ping a mag for you. Let’s say our 3rd teammate, just steps ahead of you, races straight towards the mag to pick it up right before you. Never having pinged for that item in any way before that point. You have every reason to be upset about that.

Otherwise, not really. If you were far away when you pinged it, you can’t expect it to be yours. You can only hope the other person doesn’t need it. People feeling entitled to things they’ve pinged on the map is just an example of toxic behavior in Apex. Yet these same people will see you as the toxic one for ‘taking their things’. That’s some * backwards thinking so I’m here to set things straight.

And for reference, if I’m that 3rd teammate, furthest from the pinged item…. If I need it, I’ll ping it to keep track of it. But if it gets picked up, I accept that. It is what it is, I’ll find one along the way. And I sure as hell won’t cry about it over the mic. That’s weak

@decimation92 It could just maybe also have to do with the fact that there is literally an in-game hint on the loading screen telling you that it is bad sportsmanship to take the items your team mates have "Dibsed."

You are free to go ahead and take their stuff, but you don't get to claim that the game didn't intend the dibs mechanism. It should be obvious why you are able to take things even if someone else dibsed it. Your team mates could troll you and dibs every item that is pinged.

Are there cases where team mates abuse the dibs system to a point where you will ignore their dibs? Yes. But if you don't respect the system as a rule, then don't expect any boxes to hit the ground when you say "I need light ammo."

@pandareno1999Yea, it is quite literally a "dib" system. Not sure what @decimation92 is on about, in that regard. It quite literally pops up in the kill feed when you call dibs, and uses the word "dibs". Couldn't be more clear if they tried, Lmao

@EREGDS This is why I wish we could select one or two "favorite" weapons, which we would then ping as "looking for" in-game. It's not an issue when I'm in a party with my buddies, as I can just tell them what I am looking for, verbally. Plus, they know the two guns I typically run, and vice versa. With randoms though, there's not telling how many times they don't ping the gun I am looking for, because they simply have no idea I am looking for it. I have my comfort loadout, and definitely play much better and consistently when I run it. Same goes for my buddies, so we always are looking out for loot that we know one of us is typically looking for. You're absolutely right, gotta love it when two people have decent guns, and joe schmo has to try to clutch it with a P2020 XD
