How to spot soft aim assist!?

I have recently played a couple of matches with an 8 year old family member. He plays with controller on PC. To be fair he is very good for his age, but should not really be a match for «us».

My point, the aim assist on controllers is totally op. Please make an option where this is optional.
After spectating my niece I realized I have probably reported hundreds for using controllers mistaking it for soft aim hack.

Not really a mistake though, still 100% aim assist.

@-BiA-Pesqez yup...controller aim assist is OP. It's not just the tracking. Consider the LStar muzzle flash. If both people are fighting up close and using the LStar it would be blinding! If one of those players is on Mouse/Keyboard and the other on Controller, I would put my money on the controller player all day long. He does not have to see well to get close enough and the tracking will pull it in for the hit. The MK player has to try and sight through the muzzle flash and actual has to aim the shot. Cross platforum is going to be an issue.

I get your hardships playing fps with a controller,  without aim assist you would stand no chance against mk.

I’ve now tested in the firing range and that controller aim assist is frickin OP in head to head battles.

It locks on, no need to worry about muzzle flash or the horizontal movement of the enemy.

    R99 ahhhh, yummy....

..and if you were to lift your eyes away from this console crowded forum you would see that this is actually A thing. Controllers should play against other controllers - problem solved.

Heck, I report anyone locking on to others and will continue to do so.

@maximas1986 I'm sort of curious are you playing on console or PC?

Some of the issues you mentioned might be lag related. Are you getting the packet loss symbol? It's red squares that will pop on and off...

Months ago I took my xbox off of wifi, switched to wired conneciton and that improved it a lot. This weekend I'm going to mess with my router/modem settings and see if I can improve things even more.

@DarthValtrex am playing on PS4 , and i play only with wired connection .
and the issues i mentioned is not only me who is facing it , i asked both of my regular team mates and they are having same issue.
tried different controller and its the same .
and without mentioning the issue with turning left and right not have same speed and accuracy .
i already reported that in this forum in the bug report
  • t@-BiA-Pesqez If you are getting wrecked by 8 year old controller players......

Man, I dunno what to say. Like dude honest opinion? Kinda trash ngl. This ain't fortnite aim assist. This is aim assist where you actually aim, rather than have the controller do it for you. Go and play controller. See how easy it is.

Edit: Saw you said it locks on. Dude please. Just search it up. There are plenty of videos out there disproving it. The R99 on console is harder to control than the flatline on console. Please I will state again, do some research, and most importantly git gud.

@CrazyPlays54 b*t’ch please, use made up words all you want. We both know the facts.
Hitting the target with controller in close combat require exactly zero skill.

  • @DavidW74 lol I think this is the first time I've seen someone say that cross play would be an issue because the controller players would have an advantage.

Aim assist is not strong enough to help as much as you guys are acting like it does. You make it sound like anyone can pick up a controller and have god like aim, which is just not the case.
  • It's a shame how much it tracks the target close-mid range, for example take all those situation where the screen is full of lights (termites ultis and so on...) m&k just have to hope in shooting something, while controller players just have to hip that lstar

  • Originally was mouse and keyboard for Left 4 Dead back before my laptop shot craps, switched to Xbox 360 to be able to play with friends so have been on controller for a decade now. Mainly played Gears of War 3, so having an extensive feel for both modes of control I will always choose mouse and keyboard over a controller if I'm able any day of the week. Along with mouse sensitivity affecting the way you're able to react in a completely different dimension over just X or Y axis speed and pitch, you're using your entire hand and wrist compared to a single thumb pushing around a raised stick rolling around on a potentiometer, precision is overwhelmingly in favor of the mouse and keyboard, as well as the movement with WASD is much more responsive for quick jerky movements. Wish I could transition to mouse and keyboard on the Xbox because I would make that switch in a heartbeat. The controller while fairly effective in what is required most of the time if you're used to it, it is still undeniably clunky sometimes when you're needing to quickly perform certain combinations of actions in a precise and effective manner whenever you're in a panic situation. I find holding down full auto recoil to be the hardest part of using controller because it's so inconsistent most of the time, the bullets tend to drift up and over their shoulder just barely to miss enough shots so those last few hits that would down them miss and cost me the knock.

And don't even get me started on when you can't hit players at all, it's always randomly with someone who isn't even ducking, dodging, and weaving like the more advanced players can do quite impressively. It may be because of latency though whomever has better connection will always be a split second ahead of everyone who's connections aren't as good.
