&lt;rant&gt;//Disclaimer: The following is the externalized monologue of a mirage main.So, S8 starts out with a bang, eh? At least, that’s what I thought. By the end of my first 36 matches I was rocking a 1.78 KDR. That shocked me, considering my lifetime KDR is only 1.04.But, I’ve been playing a decent amount of rank solo-queue, as usual...Now that’s down to 1.51...I’m honestly confused as to what’s going on. I’ve got, in ranked:Avg damage of 525.50168 Kill/Assists23 RevivesBut, only 3/4 of my knocks translate to kills, at 109 kills.I am a very casual S0 player, who prefers to play strategically rather than ape.Having just hit Gold III again after a mid-season hiatus (Was diamond IV), I’m confused as to how the teams work. My foes are almost always two G1-3, and a Bronze 4-3. Both my random teammates are normally Gold.Whenever we get into a skirmish, it has become a matter of how much I can do, regardless of my kit. In my last 20 matches, my teammates have gotten about 5 total kills. I have gotten around 30. Their damage normally doesn’t even sum to a 3 digit number, and if it does its sub 500.The enemies on the other hand, can headshot goose with any weapon at any range.I guess my question is, is it just too early in the season to see randoms in gold who are decent enough to survive, or am I supposed to be good enough to carry 2 others? I always thought gold through plat 2 was easy in the past, but now I can’t do anything without being lasered from 200m, while my teammates bash their own heads in and gift the enemies with every piece of kit we’ve come across.&lt;/rant&gt;

@CrazyEyedOldManWhat was your season 7 KD? Lifetime doesn't really show the true number after 2 years and thousands of games.

Also at what level did you start season 8? If it was silver you probably wrecked people that arent very good.

@CrazyEyedOldMan There is are so many variables in this it's hard to answer your questions.

Converting your Knocks to Kills at a 75% rate is fairly decent IMO, especially for solo queuing. If all of my knocks turned into kills my KD would be well above 2. Right now I'm at 1.18 KD over 200 games (last time I looked) playing almost exclusively with randoms.. If I can keep things up my average damage should be in the 500+ range this Season with a KD in the 1.5-2 range.

The Ranked pairings are likely a Gold person playing with a bronze friend or two who just has not ranked up (yet).

The reason your teammates might not get as many kills or pull their weight could be numerous things. Right now Gold is going to be harder than it normally is. Many of the Diamond+ players are just starting to grind ranked. So you're going to be bumping into those people. The Plat IV and below players do not stand a chance against them.

I solo queued up into platinum last season and Gold I was a bit of a struggle. It took me nearly 36 hours to make it into Platinum because like you, I was having to carry my team through fights..

@CrazyEyedOldMan My S7 k/d is also 1.32.

Beginning of S8 it was 1.6, then slowly averaged out to 1.4. So, I am back at my skill level with a lil improvement? Why are you surprised? 36 games is too low statistically to take the k/d into consideration. You are back where you belong like me. 🙂

Final season 7: 1.31Final ranked S7: 1.81Highest rank S7: Plat 4 (Stopped since friend didn’t want to play anymore &amp; randoms sucked)Highest lifetime rank: Diamond 4In this season, I’ve played 72ish matches thus far of ranked. I started silver, but was out in under 8 matches.My performance stats are kinda holding with last season, in which I mostly played in mid-play, and the season before that in which I was diamond.I’m mostly frustrated at the lack of contribution I see from teammates. It’s about 12 matches before I get 1 teammate that’s decent, and around 26 before I get a pair with skill. (By decent I mean at least one kill).I keep getting in encounters in which I can break all three shields and down 1-2, but my teammates in the same building can’t do anything. We end up dead, and the report gives me around 5-6x their damage, minimum.I’ve had three matches, all of which occurred in those 8 to get out of silver, where my randoms matches anywhere near me.I’d play with friends, but my only one who still plays, and I quote, calls my lobbies “suicide matches”. We end up around the same final ranks, give it take a rank my favor, but he hates playing with me since he says the lobbies are much harder.I’m just lost as to how to progress, aside from switching legends off Mirage.I can’t play with my friend since pubs and ranked are both way to lethal for him, and I can’t go anywhere with randoms. It just kinda feels like I’m beached.

@CrazyEyedOldMan I should have asked but what was your win rate before things started to drop? You have a good KD and have been to diamond. If your win rate was high the sbmm is going to give you not so good players in lobby's with some really good players.

This will especially make pubs harder than ranked. I play with a friend daily and we sometimes play ranked just to get away from the preds and masters. I dont have a KD like yours but my win rate is normally close to 10% so I get pretty bad teammates most of the time. It is a combination of all that.
