I thought they improved the matchmaking?

This has been my worst season of apex for stats and I've been playing since season 2! Matchmaking is the worst it's ever been for me. Normally my kd averages around 1.3 but this season I haven't been able to get above 0.9 and still I get put in really hard lobbies. Crazy
