I used to think Valorant is boring, after 4 months of playing, I was right.

My friends and I (6 of us) were Apex day-1 players, we never stopped playing until Apex hit one of the lowest points in season 5. Altogether, me and my gang stopped playing at once, we took a break from gaming for a bit and came back together when Valorant released. So we gave it a shot.

We were hooked for about a month because it's new, duh, and then one of us stopped playing, and then another one, and so on. Until it's only the 2 of us, we tried to grind rank and it, was, HELL.

Maybe we weren't good enough, but the smurfs in that game just too strong to deal with. They'd stomped you with one shot, no mercy.

  • Solo was hell too, 7/10 times you'll get bullied by your teammates, and your enemies if you are a bottom frag.
  • Comms are so crucial, but most people won't talk and then just die.
  • It's a hiding simulator and a walking simulator.
  • You played a match for 40 minutes, and when you lost, you'll get nothing but a rank drop and a stress.
  • No, you can't quit mid-game. Because why? here, 10-50 minutes penalty, and just to feel like crap again on the next game.
  • Batllepass is so goddam hard to level up, unless you're an 8-hours-a-day player.

Maybe we started to game a lot when BRs is all we play. Especially with Apex's rhythms, coming back to CS-like mechanic is just way too boring.

and for the past month, we haven't played anything, we all went silent. I think it took a toll on us, it's just too stressful, sometimes we even debate on some wrong moves, while in Apex, we tend to just forget about it and move on to the next game.

No, we didn't burnout on the game, we barely play 2-3 match a day.

Some of us are ready to play Apex again in season 7, while some of us just have too much pride to comeback because we trashed Apex when we quit playing (don't judge us, you know how it feels sometimes).

No, I didn't regret taking a break from Apex, instead, it gave me a whole new perspective of the game and appreciate it more than to complain more.

So, my advice to those players who find it hard to play Apex right now, take a break, it'll do you good.

@xMaxrayx why not? I think it's a safe place to put my opinion about another game that is using other game's ideas, I don't blame any devs nor necessarily saying the game is bad and shouldn't even exist in the first place.

Valorant gave me joy for quite a while, and my thread is all about how Apex turns out to be better for my mental health comparing to Valorant.

@DaleWWilson95I think it's tough to make premade for solo qs, all they can do probably is a solo mode, which is not suited for Apex imo.

Even if they make a solo mode and removes all the abilities from all legends, just like a deathmatch in valorant, the hitboxes problem will come into play xD

  • @bosourd Good advice. Everything should be done in some form of moderation or you burn out. And that means different things for different players. Some can play for a couple hours daily with no burnout. Others cant play daily.

The other thing to remember, this is a video game so you should play it to have fun over everything else. I get some are competitive and want to win but you wont win every game. The games matchmaking is setup to stop you from doing so plus it just isnt realistic.
  • A break is good and it's ok to trash a game that annoys you, I left season 2 for pubg found it boring wen't to fortnite and 600 wins or so later stopped gaming full stop and after 8 months saw an Apex trailer so here I am.

@bosourd i wouldn't remove abilitys id half them and cooldowns it could work theres just more profit in there other ideas
  • I too tried Valorant, and it reminded me why i was staying far away from Counter Strike.

    1. You are buying shields, but still die after one hs.

    2. You can't move, when someone is shooting at you(Well that's awesome, if you are on the offense, right?😞).

    3. There is one hit kill Sniper Rifle, having shield doesn't change anything.

    4. Press Ctrl to crouch, what? Disgusting.*

    5. Toxic environment.

    6. You can shoot through the walls(yeah, well).

I do like, however, the concept arts. This is the main reason why i started to play it, probably. Aesthetic-wise looks very good. For me, that means.

I remember several posts in this forum like "when valorant will come out, apex will be dead". It turned out, that you can't really compare those two games. They may seem similar due to having heroes with abilities, but have little in common -  despite shooting of course. 🙌 Valorant is far less "fluid". It is actually true, that defenders win more frequently than the attackers, i was reading about it. And music in apex is very good. There is hardly a soundtrack in valorant.

I'll still play it sometimes, but won't spend much time by it. I don't understand, why people play counterstrike. It is simply not enjoyable for me. Probably a matter of taste.. and developed e-sports scene. 🤔

*Yea, i know you can customize it, but c key has other vital function. 😉

@DesertDust91 tbh what made me interested in valorant was the agents' skills, because of Apex of course.

But after you get the hang of your mains, it's just not that interesting anymore, because ultimately it comes down to your aim, gotta get that headshot otherwise you're screwed. More often than not, it depends on your luck with that first 3 bullets.
  • @DesertDust91Oh yes i remember all the threads on this forum and the Apex Reddit hivemind jumping on this game and preaching that it will be the end of Apex.

I also played it. Its like CSGO mixed with R6 Siege but somehow uglier and an even more cripped offense with a fraction of the content and less interesting game mechanics.
