It's devs not listening to it's player base (who have justified criticism) that kill games off in the end when players quite rightly move on to something else when issues are ignored.Ask a majority of Apex players what their top 3 issues with the game are mostly from the matchmaking (including teammates),cheaters & hackers, servers & performance issues (lag. audio, hit reg etc) & yet these issues have plagued the game since the early seasons & seasons (years) later nothing has changed. And when even when the most loyal of Apex fanboys/girls like several of them on youtube openly criticize the game for the same reasons then you know the game has serious issues.
After a week off Apex I decided to play a few games of BR mode earlier today & in both matches the first thing that hit me upon landing both in hotspots in SP (random teammate choices not mine) was the terrible slow down & frame rate issues that dogged me throughout when there were several enemies in full view right in front of me scrambling for loot as well & even when exchanging gunfire with the enemies by battle was also with the crippling slow, choppy frame rate where the game felt as smooth as swimming in a pool full of quicksand.Suffice to say in both matches by hook or by crook though I got 2 kills in each match the slowdown angered me so much I've decided to give the game a miss until S21.As previous seasons have proved in the past when Apex is in the * end of any season (like we are in S20) issues with the game become more prominent than ever.
@RedmattgameI want to remind everyone who thinks its a developers fault : Developers of AAA Titles dont really have a say in the direction a game will take. They dont make the business decisions. Im pretty sure developers at Respawn would be able to fix most of the pressing issues we players complain about , but thats not in the business interest. It would cost extra money without a proper "Return of Invenstment", so shareholders will likely deny such actions.
It has a reason why so many Apex Devs jumped ship after the game took off, my bet is the game had to take a route they didnt envision for their "brainchild".
I worked on games in the past and i know quite some people working in game development. As soon as they work for a mayor studio (either they sign directly or the indie studio they work for gets bought) they all tend to get frustrated at one point bcs of the lack of control they have over their work they should or should not do.
a proper prejudice spares you from thinking for yourself !
