I'm finding it the same in pubs. Last season was great, matchmaking was really good. My kd was 1.5 last season but this season I'm barely keeping it above 1. Matchmaking has gone back to being terrible 90% of the time and enemy players are completely destroying me most games. 

Such a shame because I started to really enjoy apex again last season. Guess it was an anomaly!
