Is Bangalore an attack legend?

Evading doesn't mean you're not attacking. Attack is not just mindless pushing forward to death. Still, if you want to go straight to the enemy, Bangalore is your best bet, because you can blind the enemy with smoke so you don't have to dodge bullets. Or, you can throw smoke somewhere else to confuse the enemy while you flank them.

Regarding the artillery strike, there's a reason explosions don't happen instantly. That moment is very useful to scare enemies out of their hideout and shoot them out in the open field. This makes it more of an offensive ability. You can't do that in Gibraltar's air strike, as explosions are instant and you don't get to see what the enemy is doing. Gibby's ability is more defensive, designed to work in conjunction with his dome shield, forcing the enemies into close quarter where he has some leverage because of the fortified passive, or pushing them back to allow his own squad to heal, repair shields or revive.

@SpyrosFPSI said everyone has same weapons. So they too have the alternator with digital threat :P where’s your advantage now.

I like that you said ‘can be an attacker’. Everyone can be an attacker! If I drop a carepackage from lifeline in a bangalore smoke, she can also be an attacker :P

@DoYaSeeMe, it sorta does. ‘Evading’ is almost synonymous with ‘not attacking’ in this game at least since you can’t run and shoot. If you strafe, you’re also ‘evading’ but that’s more dodging so yea... but I get your point.

But like I said in my prev post. Open field, everyone same gear so you see them and they see you. No point in trying to confuse. And lets say everyone has digital threat. Smoke is useless in that case

LOLZ have you seen ppl be scared of her airstrike? I really haven’t. You can dodge those time delayed missles so easily, even in the open. I see ppl running for the hills with Fat Guy’s airstrike tho. But like I said she can be an attacker but it usually only happends in addition with her teammates and almost never alone.

Okay same weapons. Then Octane or Pathfinder might win but pushing with their abilities might also get themselves killed.

I just mean Bangalore can be an attacker with Smoke+Digital. Sometimes enemies don't have digital scope and you have the advantage. Only Bloodhound is a threat.

Lifeline can't be an attacker with heal drone or care package. Care package kill would be 1 in a million :P
Care package can be a defensive option to take cover and i've used it very well in some situations and end game small circle where the only cover you have is a tree or nothing.

So, open field, same gear, they see me, I see them. I shoot smoke, then we all throw grenades. As they run away from the smoke cloud to regain visibility, they either run into grenades or into my squad's sight. Seen this done nicely, did it myself a couple of times as well.

I've seen a Bangalore winning against 2 enemy teams with an airstrike. I was spectating one of those teams, and they were not afraid of the airstrike, until they realised the ring comes to sting them as well. The whole team perished and the other one lost 2 members outside the ring, then their last survivor got shot in the head by the winner.

Evading or strafing can be used for strategic approach. you can lure the enemy out, so your teammates can flank him or get a good line of sight. If you are confronting a Caustic that's inside a building, for example, if would be dumb to push him, better make him come to the window or go around that building to throw termites inside while covering the exits. That still counts as an attack in my book.

Shingeki no Densetsu

Digital Threat gives you visibility in exchange for mobility, as you can't run while aiming down the sight, also it only works at a limited range, unlike the digital scope. It's always better to be outside of the smoke cloud when attacking, that's where Bangalore gets an advantage.

Anyway, the classes in Apex are not as clearly differentiated as those in Overwatch, and the reason for that is to allow for a more flexible gameplay. Adaptation is key for survival. 

Can't tell you how many times I ran into smoke to which my surprise there were some Caustic variables in them. 😬

The smoke is extremely versatile. You can use it to help pick up a downed squadmate, grab their banner, or use it as cover when you're looting some boxes. She's even better when you combine smoke with the abilities of other legends. Hide Caustic's variables, Gibraltar's defensive bombardment, Octane's jumpad that's near a cliff. There's a ways to mix up how you can use the smoke in battle.

The most common reason I use it though is blanketing the enemies with it as we're advancing. 

1. Smoke them
2. Throw grenades as we're approaching so it creates chaos and helps hide footsteps
3. Wait for my squadmates to revive me

I see her as an attacker. Her Rolling Thunder is easy to escape but can eliminate an area of the battle when it's coming down to the end. If you have Gibraltar and both ultimates are available, you can toss her's first, hide it with smoke, then use Gibraltar's bombardment to lure them into it. :eahigh_file: (easier said than done, of course)

The ult and tactical smokescreens are inspired by the so called "Bangalore" explosives used in wars to create large smokescreens to allow troops to advance on open terrain.

Bangalore is not a smoke screen in the military... they're used to clear areas, like barbed wire fences etc... believe their called Bangalore torpedoes... just fyi 🙃
