Is shooting through walls considered "gameplay exploit" or "aimbot?"

I had a question.  How do you report shooting through walls in tdm?  Tonight I was playing Ash and an Octane was shooting at me and a Wraith on my team inside Wattson's Pylon on the second floor.  I jumped for cover to the other side of the wall where the Octane could no longer see me and he was able to kill the Wraith that was next to me, and when watching the death replay he then killed me while I was hidden behind the wall.  You could see where it said "you" and he actually shot through the wall at me and I died.  This was more than likely trigger-bot combined with wallhacking since trigger-bot will snap onto a target without taking into account a wall being in the way.  A normal Octane (even a cheater) would have had no reason to fire through that wall because he would have no way of knowing I didn't strafe out of the way or that I was still standing there.  He more than likely still had the trigger-bot on from killing the wraith and it went right to me next, with the game malfunctioning by allowing the bullets to go through the wall and hit me.

So, my question is, would this be reported when the cheater gets reported as "gameplay exploit" since the bullet would not have gone through the wall unless there was a bug in the game and the player benefited from exploiting it?  Or, would "aimbot" be the appropriate one since trigger-bot is an advanced form of an aimbot and whether or not the game has a bug that allows shooting through walls without a form of aimbot he wouldn't have made the shot in the first place, I suppose if "wallhacking" is an option that could be as well.  Is selecting "gameplay exploit" enough to get them to at least review the death footage?

Oh, thanks, so that's what an exploit is referring to.  That's good to know.  I have heard about those things happening before from Youtube videos, but have never witnessed in in-game.  It sounds like aimbot would be the appropriate option, then they can determine from there if it is a connection issue.  I didn't know a connection issue could cause something like that to happen.  It definitely is weird when you see things like that.

  • AymCTL Its hard to say since the issue can be caused by a connection issue, (either from you, them, or even the server), where on their side, you were out in the open when they had fired at you.

However, if you believe the Octane was cheating, I'd suggest reporting them for "aimbot", (and maybe for no-recoil and/or wall hacks assuming the Octane also had perfect aim and/or was tracking you through walls).

While the reason why I wouldn't choose "gameplay exploit", is because that is when a player uses bugs or glitches to gain an unfair advantage, (such as when Fuse players were able to bug out the Trident to become invincible, and when Revenant players were able to glitch out their ultimate to become unkillable).
