Okay, having now read what others have had to say, I feel like there's another discussion we can have here.
K/D is an interesting statistic, but Apex is not a game where most kills wins. People forget that this is a last man standing game type, and if you're playing it for kills then you're doing it wrong. If you spend any part of your match, except maybe the last 60 seconds, actively seeking out engagements then you're still doing it wrong. If you believe that the most fun to be had in this game is a gunfight then you're playing for the wrong reasons and with the wrong objective in mind. The only stat you want to chase in this game is the win. That will make you crazy enough, but chasing k/d or a 20 bomb (without cheating) is a fool's errand. And wanting those things is what comes of watching streamers and ALGS. It's like me going to a BSO performance and then wanting to buy a violin and expecting to play like Heifetz. Day one or after years of lessons, it's still utterly unrealistic.
Shift your perspective. Figure out what it is that really matters to you in this game, and if it's still k/d then stop playing BR and start playing TDM.

KD matters unfortunately. A 1.0 KD brings you better quality players. I was playing on my Smurf and i got good cooperative teammates. My main account is 0.7 KD, lower than usual and getting bad or worst teammates. This is the case.

Just to add on, TDM does not change my BR KD stats. I will still get stuck with teammates who do hot drops and ruin my whole experience of battle royal.
