@NickBeam27 Don't kid yourself.  Gambling games make a lot more money than regular video games, because people cannot stop themselves and everyone thinks their logic overrules their pigeon emotions.  Just saying, we have weaknesses as people, and gambling takes advantage of that.

So Apex makes a lot of money off of the freemium model.  People lap it up, because they also then want to justify why they repeatedly dropped $20 a month on a skin.  This is not about morality for me, but to say it is what it is, and I think this game completely ratchets plenty of money until there is a more worthy competitor.

That's when you'll see displacement.  CoD was done in, Overwatch was done in, Fortnite, arguably, is done in but not really so much.  Same thing, people want that game to fail but it really isn't, no matter our preferences.
