Legend Tokens: Why can’t we gift?

So, I’ve talking to a friend about this question I had. I recently got back into Apex and when I did, he had said something about not having a certain character; I offered to gift him (not knowing this wasn’t possible at the time) the legend he wanted, but was met with the option of gifting for 750 apex coins. I was just talking with the same friend maybe a half hour before posting this, idk how long I’ll take lol, but I told him “why can’t we gift legend tokens to other friends?” I had asked. It could be a once in a while, kind of thing. Not too often for it to make a big difference from the friend earning legend tokens naturally, maybe gift every 6-12 months. I figured why not ask the creators instead. And so, here I am, can’t anyone else relate to this sort of dilemma, or is me and my friend by ourselves in this opinion?
