@Cheese9Man
I agreed with everything you've said in this thread so far, except Season 7 (I hated the season for a variety of reasons).
But, the rest? Absolutely agree with you. Personally, I've always (mainly) played to unlock things and level up and all that. It's why I play most games. There's usually a reason, a purpose to why I pick it up, each and every time. But trying out the new content, completing the BP, it just doesn't feel like enough anymore. Especially, with all the issues.
And, I will say that people do give too much slack to Respawn and EA. Not necessarily on here, but in general. Like you said, yeah, the game is free and all that. But it's not like it's free out of kindness. They do that, add stuff for free, in an effort to entice you. Hoping the longer you play, the better odds you have to buy stuff.
Also, it does kind of hurt to see them making piles of cash, but you don't see where it's going in the game. Bugs that have been around for multiple seasons, server issues never letting up, the matchmaking sucking a lot of the time, etc. And you see little to nothing done for it all. Not to mention the content has even slowed down. Yeah, we get those Flash Events, but there isn't really anything new and exciting to them. Just "Play Arena, get BP Stars". It's great for leveling the BP, but not much else.
And, I will say all this Mobile stuff has gotten me frustrated with Apex as well. Watching them reveal stuff for it that I've wanted in regular Apex for awhile now. Gun stats and official recoil patterns, TDM (I was sad too that Arena wasn't this), a better firing range, and so on. Like you said, the main Apex game is looking at racking in about 2 Billion dollars. Why isn't the Mobile related stuff in the game by now? It really should be. But it doesn't really feel like they invest that money into the game. It just goes into the pockets of EA executives.
And while I do think @hayhor is onto something with the idea of burnout or fatigue, I would argue that it goes deeper than that. I feel I would be having a better time with the game if my wishes for it, my concerns for it, were actually being addressed. I feel that's the main cause of my frustration with this game, which then leads to the burn out and fatigue, because I feel like I'm banging my head against the wall, that nothing changes, issues aren't being fixed, etc.
We all need more than this, in my opinion. Even if you are a die hard Apex fan, everyone has their limit, everyone's patience wears thin, eventually. If they keep having seasons like this, keep ignoring problems, keep not adding or addressing features and concerns the player base keeps talking about, they will crash and burn. May not be until Season 25, but it'll happen, eventually. Like I said, player patience and good will are a finite resource. And if they don't start doing something to make the game better (in many regards), it will go downhill for them. Their gravy train can't last forever, especially, if they do nothing to maintain it or make things better.
