My KDA which is my skill and capability showed in photomatched with those monsters everyday. No matter its rush hour , midnight, weekends. Matchmaking is NOT giving me any chance, AT ALL. How is this possible to this such popular game ? This game has HIGH amount of players, why they just barely randomly throw pro vs noobs like me in same room?

@kittysune I do have my speculations. While Respawn claims that they aren't using EOMM as it is strictly a design enforced by EA proper, I have my speculations.-Have you ever noticed when you answer the "Match quality survey" and say "No" like 99% percent of us do, we lowkey get queued in 'fair' lobbies? Hardly any diamond trails and such. If you think about it, why else would we get asked that multiple times on a singular account? Surveys to one person shouldn't be asked that same question. That research data would be void. That particular survey in my opinion is an engagement queue/tool so that people can continue to play the game. If you say no, lobbies aren't as sweaty. If you say yes, well genuinely, that person will stay in and Respawn can say, "Phew, we did it, boys. They aren't leaving or quitting the game" More money in their pockets.-Have you ever noticed when we get a dub, the next match is significantly harder?-Have you ever noticed that if we lose matches a few times in a row, we would get queued in to "easier" lobbies?These points are clear indicators of what EOMM is and I would say that you're not wrong.I think that Respawn is using a combination of both "SBMM" and "EOMM" because the formula here isn't to validate the expectations of player satisfaction and experience but player retention. It's probably why SBMM as a whole, in Apex's case is just not optimized because that's the balance that "they are continuously trying to fix"No gaming company would ever want to lose their player base because it is...money related. It's probably why Respawn doesn't want to disclose their secret "SBMM" formula...because it probably and most likely involves EOMM.There's articles regarding EA, the EOMM formula and how it works. What makes Respawns formula so special that it can't be disclosed? It's nefarious, I tell you.

Hello @B3ntar It's beyond who's better than who. "Better" players or players with "5 times their KDR" should know to mentor less skilled players especially when you know they are 5 steps lower than your skill level. After all, it's a team based game regardless if preference is to have a pre-made squad or not.I've been in squads plenty of times where a Master player (Specifically Master players) would die first because it's in their head that they are better and want to 1v59 the entire lobby. Even worse, they don't say anything until they die, and when they die, they call us trash but we're alive and doing work. They literally leave the team and do things on their own rather than LEAD. If Master players and Preds have to bear the unfortunate queue with noobs, they should lead them to victory because they have the experience right? and also...because it's a team based game. Not sure if I mentioned that. But I guess it's not their business and blaming due to SBMM is much much better.That's a scenario right? So in general SBMM as a whole still needs to have rework to further mitigate issues of the whole lobby being saturated with one too many High skilled players, or low skilled players in high skilled lobbies for farming/boosting purposes. People have to learn this game. It's unfair to call out or shame a less experienced player...they clearly have to learn and it takes time.Maybe it's bragging rights, that's fine, but others still need to learn. How dope would it be if since you're just better, you can teach them a thing or two. You would then alleviate some growing pains because now they are encouraged to learn and one day they will be in your shoes. I've had preds in my team and for the most part they are pretty chill and taught me a few things. Because they've had so much time and passing knowledge on to less skilled players provide a much greater benefit and experience rather than calling them trash. High skilled players were trash at one point too. It's what motivated me and eventually got me to diamond. I still have much to learn if I choose to push higher.

There's 100 million active players in this game, you would think that it's enough for Respawn to know how to hash out low and high experienced players.

But I was technically Gold IV last season because of grinding to that level at the opening of the season (Diamond season before that), and basically giving up due to hating the new ranked system.That means here I am, showing up in Bronze IV with Gold rank if you only consider last season. And I've seen myself paired with anything from Rookies to people who were ranked silver, but who were Platinum last season. It's pretty safe to say if I've got a team mate who was gold or plat prior season, to having 2 rookies with me, the experience of the game is massively, massively different. In silver now, just because gravity towards my skill level lifts me up naturally, even though I'm not really trying that hard. I haven't noticed much difference as I still get rookies, and plats on my team. It's just that there are more people with current Silver rank. The games are not different, though, varying massively in quality of skill.

I hear what you're saying, and I'm definitely not coming to the defense of this game's sbmm. But I will say this:

The squad in wtf.png looks scary, but just plain is not. Yes, they're experienced, especially Wraith. But that kill/win ratio is the tell. She does a lot of damage and has not a lot of wins to show for it. This is a player who puts in the hours and treats the game like it's Team Deathmatch, and never really got the memo that the object of the game is to win. What that means for you is this: yes, she can vaporize you in half a second, but one engagement later, far short of a win, she'll go down in a hail of someone else's gunfire. In other words, that banner isn't showing you her k/d, which may well not be much different from yours.

Then there's the squad in wtf2.png. All rank emblems and no kill/win/damage data. Are they any good? Sure, to some degree, in certain situations. Maybe they're a three stack who works well together, but put one them on a squad with randoms and suddenly they put their pants on one leg at a time just like the rest of us. I spent last season watching squadmates with master dive trails get into combat with me and another random and go down like a straw man, over and over and over again. Tells me that ranks are a house of cards and the higher up you go the more reliant you are on your premades, your adderall, and your anti-recoil.

If you're coming up against these kinds of squads in every match you play then I'll take you at your word. But I would guess that's not really the case - it's just that you notice it more when you lose to a squad that looks scary on paper. I also have to assume that if you stayed in the match long enough to screen shot the winners, then maybe you came in second? High placement counts A LOT in this game's sbmm. It doesn't care that on paper they're WAY better than you. It cares that you made it through eighteen other squads in order to fight them, win or lose.

Food for thought.

@Axs5626Sxa5001 Ranked decay is the worse of two evils, I think. I agree with the dev who was worried that people will quit when ranked protection was removed and that was exactly what happened.
Now, I'm way, way more critical of how ranked is scored. But Ranked protection, while not perfect, did make it a little harder to smurf, and definitely made people who weren't purposely smurfing end up closer to their level. You always had the problem of someone not playing dropping, but then again, as they rose, they'd close off the ability to drop to the lowest levels again. Or make a new account, etc. etc.
But it's really bad with the current scoring system. If you make it super hard to go up levels against your peers even if you place top 5 (I have another thread on why that is absurd), and then you also combine that with cracking people with 3 digit penalties if they do drop in rank after...what is it, 3 games of protection?...you're just throwing fuel on the fire. The idea of ranked decay is that it's supposed to be more fair. But what really happens is that people now go crazy about protecting their points, quit maybe after they hit a new rank, and with the new scoring system, hide and let their team mates score points for them.
I think I've posted a lot about this but those are the punchlines to my opinion on ranked decay. Bad, but far worse with the scoring system that exists.

thats just an example from the skill level of my lobby, i basically have no chance to shot back before getting knocked with 30-30 headshots and wingman while they already have red armor. Yeah rank decays, but this kinda method is super unfair for newbie like me. I really cant enjoy the game

and actually its casual mode, not ranked one. In ranked it feels even worse than casual, i cant do nothing when a team rushed us

@Alphabets Yeah I just started the game a week ago and I keep getting ppl from Silver or higher with tons of kills and wins and I wasn't even Bronze. I was like Rookie 3 or so. I do climb the ladder, but I get destroyed a lot and even when I finish in top 3 teams, I get like 1 or 0 kills during the game and the top enemy team totally walks over us :D Like it's not even remotely fair.

because i don't feel i deserve to be put beside preds on my matchmaking it felt like cheating lol
