AMEN Brother! Couldnt agree more and im getting so sick and tired of getting beamed by aimbotters (Yes i call all controller players that)
@SulanSr I've got aim assist turned off as a console player, and I'm facing console strength aim assist daily lol.
Surely if I can manage it, with none of the benefits of kbm, y'all can? 😛
@MandatoryIDtaglooking at top-ranked players being on the controller for the absolute majority of the cases I would dare to say that no one here would be able to make a case that aim assist is not overpowering at the moment.
The fact that you like to torture yourself is your choice, but people like me and many more would like to play vs people who have actual mechanical skills not 40% of them assisted by the software.
I am ok to lose vs skilled players, but when you regularly face those no-recoilers with Flatline or now L-star + crazy pushers with controllers because their aim-assist is not working on mid/far range...that is an annoying combo.
What's the point of all the movement, tactics etc. if you just get beamed and instantly jumppad pushed by the squad carrying no missing wingmans e.g.
The best videos I have in my collection are ones where people land in front of me facing away = they have no audio, game awareness or movement, yet their turn around and land close to if not 100% of their shots usually half being headshots...and guess what is the common trait = controller!
@Eshshshss This my point though, I don't complain because I actively choose to have aim assist turned off, just as you choose to use kbm.
Popa2caps has the right idea here by calling for specific input lobbies, which I'm also in favour of however these threads always tend end up a whine fest about aim assist.
Comment about turning off aim assist as you @MandatoryIDtag do probably can't be detected by the game given feedback that people successfully trick the game into a mode where M&K gets aim assist read Xim and stuff.
But if the game is smart enough, sure I would not mind playing vs players who use controllers / are on console WITHOUT aim assist.
Yet I guess the easiest way would be just split two depending on platform/game input settings at first.

That's not AA. Audio is the game, and the other thing is cheating.

- @MandatoryIDtag This is such a useless response to the issue at hand. They are posting to request a feature that would be very beneficial for multiple reasons and would benefit every platform by making the game more balanced. Input based matchmaking with input lock is available in Halo, Fortnite, and Warzone. No reason it cant be available in Apex, and your response trying to suggest someone is just bad at the game for requesting a feature is completely unhelpful

I never suggested anybody was bad at the game, I just pointed out that aim assist isn't the godlike power many people claim it to be. You chose to interpret it that way. 😛
@MandatoryIDtag It may be the best solution (I tend to think it's a very fair solution), but I believe it's unrealistic to think that Respawn has any intent to ever change this. In fact, just the opposite is occurring, with inclusion of console players in ALGS.
- @MandatoryIDtag props to you for playing without aim assist, but its not a matter of m&k players managing it as well as you can on console. It comes down to the fact that people on console don't have the greatest movement so they force the fight to be cqc by any means so they can get the benefit of aim assist; from there it's just using hip fire aim assist... I've tried to use the bonus of m&k movement to out play my opponent, but it doesn't matter... most console players use AA so no matter how hard I try to out maneuver them I still get beamed.. I would love for there to be separate servers based on input or at the very least a way to turn off cross play...
You know I've never thought of that, but I honestly do behave drastically differently based on my input device.
I use both mouse & keyboard and/ or controller in Apex Legends and honestly try to get as close as possible when using a controller for the extra aim assist.
I'm not being biased in any way, just stating what I've noticed directly while playing the two devices. Like for example my clips of the controller are pinpoint center mass on the player most of the time (if I connect).
My mouse & keyboard clips are drastically different. The fine aim so slightly moves, which leads to one or more misses during a fight. It's quite easy to spot once you see it the first time.

Truth to be said it is the first sign I see when people are playing controller = they get into your face no matter the weapon be it Eva or 301 or Volt, getting as close as possible is the goal nr.1 which otherwise would be rendered as not smart decision unless you really run only shotguns or now prowler (rest you can hit from way further :P ).
