My issue with the game; sandwich

(Before i start, i want to note that this is entirely my own opinion)

After playing this game for almost a week now i've come to spot some issues with the game. Its something that i rarely experienced in other BR games, but it was doable when they happened. Its the socalled Sandwich.

For those who dont know what im talking about, its basically when you are up against one squad, when all of a sudden another squad comes from behind and basically ruins your day.

Me and a friend has been enjoying this game so far, but the last few days we've noticed this happen more or less every time. We can walk around for 15 minutes one game until we meet a squad, and the second we start fireing at eachothers, some other squad shows up out of nowhere. Its gotten to the point that i'd almost rather just hide until im at the endgame where its all out gunfights anyway, so my chance for winning is higher. 

Now, We did some testing today. We went into 20 games and kept track of each one. 17 of these games were matches we lost due to sandwiching, and the other 3 were just us hiding out until endgame. we even landed in the swamp area one time, spent a few minutes looting without a single enemy there, because it was so far away from the dropship, and eventually far away from the ring. All of a sudden a squad showed up, and we started fighting. It went well, until ANOTHER squad showed up, rushing us until we all died. I got the feeling that i was "cursed" in a way, but starting to look more on the logical solutions now. 

My theory for this is that the map is either too small or too "Zoned". I've never experienced sandwiching this often in other BR games and those games usually have larger maps, and more broad ones. Apex has a lot smaller map with bigger differences in the zones themselves, for example the desert region vs the jungle river kinda region. 

Well i guess i made this post to see what other people think. Is this something you experience aswell? Whats your thoughts about it?
