Need solos and duos ranked with pubs

I am tired and I am pretty sure everyone else is to. That there is no solos or duos for ranked, and we need a solo pub. I liked having the solo pub because it was nice to play when no one else is one. As well as having duo and solo ranked would be nice thus not to have randoms playing in trios ranked when you don’t have friends on. EA listen everyone would be happier if you did this

  • @marinesniper235 This topic comes up quite a bit, with arguments for both sides. The dev's have essentially stated that the solo-mode LTM way back when, negatively impacted game health and new player retention. Personally, I don't expect to ever see a permanent solo-mode, pub or ranked. Ranked duo might be more of a possibility, but with how they prioritize queue times, I wouldn't count on that either. I could very well be mistaken though, as I haven't seen any updates in quite some time.
  • @marinesniper235 Ask dsky said their data has said otherwise. People quickly stopped playing it. Most people prefer to blame their teammates.

I'd love to see them try solos again to see how it holds up this time. I don't think they could add all of the modes you mention tho. It would really split up the player base.

Personally if I'm on my own I no fill trios now for fun.
  • @hayhor Likewise. I would be down for the LTM to return for a little trial, given how long it has been since the first go. Perhaps the data would show otherwise, with the current state of the game. Who knows

About the splitting of the player base with additional playlists though, just a thought. I'm curious why games cant populate several playlists these days, or is it just Apex? I remember back in the CoD/Halo heyday, they had probably 12+ playlist, most of which were pretty heavily populated. Maybe the available game pool has just become so diluted these days, that there are enough options for people, so there isn't as large of a concentration on one title. I just don't remember Bungie/Infinity Ward ever using this explanation, regarding playlists. It never seemed to be a concern for them. Maybe I'm way off base though. It's still early on Monday, Lmao

Props to you for your no-fill trios fun! I'm definitely not good enough to have fun doing that. I just have to try to rat for final circle, and get some damage and attempt to 3rd the last two squads for a miracle win. I have to no-fill duos when I'm by myself. I can take out duos fairly well.

@dSKyNafinchin I think the reason regular cod and other games like it had many modes is they weren't BRs so there were less players. In a BR you have bigger lobbies.

Now you might say well warzone lobbies are bigger and they have solos, duos, trios, quads and usually a rotating ltm. I think EA/Respawn put a huge emphasis on instant queues to keep players playing. Warzone queues take longer but they dump you into a pregame mode so you don't notice. Apex could do similar.

As for the soloing trios, I've tried to do it in duos but I find duos harder as the teams in it are almost always holding hands. Trios is more chaotic and easier to get involved without being singled out. Well until you get to end game and get annihilated by a 3 stack who then tbag your box, which happens to me a lot.
  • @hayhor Ah, very good point. Roughly 8 people per lobby, can cover a lot more lobbies than 60 people per lobby. I didn't think about that.

Now that you mention it, you're right about the pregame part. I haven't played much Warzone, but PUBG does the same thing with a pregame gathering. Queue times are definitely longer than Apex, but being able to fight other players for a minute or so, makes it seem a lot shorter than it really is. I get into lobbies on Apex, faster than any other BR I have played. Plus, I have no idea how the average concurrent Apex player count looks, when compared to CoD.

Haha man, I'm always embarrassed for stacked teams when they do that to me, as a solo death for the win. Personally, I don't get much satisfaction out of being on the winning side of that, but I guess, to each, their own? I might have to give no-fill trios another try. I tend to try to get the win via sneaking like I said, but the percentage of success doesn't really pan out, so I stay away from it. If I just prioritize 3rd'ing fights early on, it might work better for me
