New Shard System Confusion
"Instead of an entire Heirloom set dropping at once, you’ll now receive Heirloom shards." What exactly does this mean?? Will I now get 3 shards dropped where I would've gotten a Heirloom set drop?...

OR will I now need to collect shards as I open packs and will need to have collected x amount of shards in order to build the Heirloom? I read it over a lot and have now confused myself and it would be nice to have it cleared up ☹️
@iBlockHead Instead of a set dropping at once, you'll collect shards and when you have enough shards you trade those in for a heirloom of your choice. Kinda like crafting metals!

Yea I was afraid of this, I would rather open up a pack and get all 3 (I assume it's 3 since you get 3 items) shards to pick my Heirloom than collect shards.

Nest question is what percentage do they drop at?
Every 500 packs is one Shard?
Every 100 packs?
120 packs?
Every 166.66666666 packs?
I read that every 500 packs still guarantees enough shards for a full set, the rarity isn’t changing at all, just lets you pick which one. Thank god too cause all I want is the wraith one and if I got the shock sticks I’d throw my PS4 out the window lol

@Jimmahwd rates stay the same, you should collect 3 shards(one heirloom) every 500 packs

- @iBlockHead I agree, it should be you get 3 shards in the pack to replace the random heirlooms. Unfortunately tho, EA knows how to make money on pack stuff. Last quarter they made a billion on just add ons.
- @hayhor But lets say you get 3 shards in that 1 out of 500 pack and you need for an heirloom and it only takes 1 shard to get the heirloom. Little sidetrack, now you get the heirloom, a banner pose & a quip with each set.
Okay sidetrack over. If you’d get 3 shards, people wouldn’t go for a quip & banner when they can just buy 2 additional ones. So I wonder how they’ll do the shards thingy. Are they gonna do single shard distribution or are they gonna be hundreds to toy around with.
It’ll likely be that each set will equate to all ones you get in 1 tick but if you buy loose items you’re likely gonna pay more.What about the following?
Let's say I opened 250 packs so far and I decide to buy all that stuff from the upcoming event for about 168 bucks in order to receive Octane's Heirloom for sure.
Will my "road to 500th pack" counter be reseted to zero again after getting the heirloom from the event? Or are these event packs not affecting my counter to 500?
