@Cheese9ManPersonally, I don't know what people are complaining about. I don't think there is a single game these days, where people are happy with what they get.
On the cosmetics, personally, I don't really spend money on skins for video games, so I don't have much of an opinion. As far as the actual content, heck, most of it looks fine to me, and I would probably buy a bunch of it, if I had Twitch money coming in or something. I never really see anyone produce suggestions for what "good" content they want in these games. Just complaints about everything being "trash". On Apex too, lol. In my opinion, they make it all for free, and no one forces anyone to buy anything they don't want. I have unlocked quite a few dope items via the events/BP already.
My one gripe with cosmetics is simply how the cosmetic customization works now, specifically in-game. In the old Halo's, multiplayer was Red v Blue, with the team colors taking over the custom colors in-game. This way, you always knew who was enemy/friendly at first glance. On Infinite, your custom armor stays set in-game, so I'll come around a corner and happen upon an enemy in my team colors, but he's not friendly. It has gotten me killed a couple times, Lmao
On overall content, as a Halo player since CE, I would still like to see more of the old stuff make a return. Would love to see Team BR's return (non-ranked), Ranked Doubles was always fun for me, and Team Snipers. I'm definitely not unhappy with how it is right now though. I play more Halo than Apex these days, and have a blast whether I'm solo or pre-made.
I still remember the first couple weeks after it launched, and everyone was complaining that "ohhh the BP takes too long", but I'm already nearly maxed, and the season doesn't end until around May. I had no issue with how it was originally, personally, but a lot of people want that instant gratification these days. I'm a (fairly) old-school gamer, so a good grind and replay-ability goes a long way for me. I don't want to complete games as fast as possible.
All told, for me, it is a great game already, and they'll continue to support it into the future, so I'm happy with it. This is the most fun I have had on Halo multiplayer since Halo 3!! I suppose it's all subjective to the particular player though, in the end
@hayhor It is definitely different, but I love it! I have always loved the Halo campaigns, and this mostly open-world version was awesome, for me. I'm a lover of open-world game though, as I love to just spend hours exploring (I have more hours logged on AC Odyssey than I care to admit, Lol). Having played all the main Halo games, Infinite quickly became one of my favorites in the series. I've played through the entire campaign 4 times already, on different difficulties for different reasons, and I'm still working on finding all the audio logs in my main save. It's definitely a change from past Halo's, being open-world with minimal cut scenes (actual missions are more linear, with cut scenes), but I love it!

Most definitely! I'm slightly biased, having played all Halo's, but I'm the first to admit that I did not like Reach, 4 or 5, when it came to multiplayer (Halo campaign has always been one of my favorites, across all titles). I fell off with Halo MP majorly after Reach, because I hated the new armor abilities (mainly armor lock). Infinite has a few abilities, but they feel natural in the game, for me. The grapple is a godsend (Pathy main). I thought the thrusters were weak sauce at first, but I absolutely love them now, especially when I have sword/grav hammer. Even the drop-wall is pretty dang useful, but still somewhat easy to work around as the aggressor. None of the abilities feel OP/ridiculous to me, unlike on Reach.
I don't like to form opinions based on media reactions/reviews, for the reason you mentioned, Lol! No game is perfect, but for me, Infinite is a really solid game. Luckily, the multiplayer is F2P, so you can give it a try for yourself and see how it feels. My main piece of advice if you're not very familiar with Halo, is to get your 4-shots DOWN, with that BR!! (full health enemy; 3 bursts anywhere cracks shield; 4th burst to the head is the killshot). I have one buddy that wasn't too fond of Halo when he first started playing (Infinite is his first), but once I introduced him to the trusty BR, his tune changed completely
TL;DR Halo Infinite = great game already, with heaps of potential, imo
