Is it automatically a thing if you solo? Or do you opt into it in some way?
What happens to duos in trios? If every solo is in the solo mode, they can't have a full team?
People act like this stuff is simple. Just imagine if I went down to your job, observed you for a day and then told you you should do this this and this even tho I didn't have any real data.

Whilst we are on the subject. You know the little "tick box" in BR that reads "Fill Team". That fails on me very often. I uncheck that to solo queue and sometimes it will add members to my solo death. How is it EA and Respawn can screw up a simple binary switch?? I have now gotten into the habit of flipping it off and on several times before entering a match. I don't solo queue to be anti-social, it is done to keep others from dying with me as I learn a new map or character skills.
Worse yet is when I queue for a solo match, it will ignore me and pass over me like I don't exist. The members in queue will rise well beyond the 50 to 60 mark and plummet back down to less than 20. Three times in a row waiting for a match over 8 minutes. All the time having to browse menus to keep from being "timed out". At which point the neurotic game queue is not attempting to get people in to fill the matches fast or there are too few people actually playing this game at all.
I am told by friends that the "custom match" allows you to invite friends via a passcode. I am unaware how or who you need to grease to get access, but obviously that is beyond my paygrade.
Meanwhile... I have been PvPing elsewhere. I am holding off spending any real money at all on this season, until I know where this is all going.
- @Xubunnytwo I'm guessing you were queued before hitting the switch, unqueued, quickly hit the switch and then quickly requeued. In that case you were still in the previous queue. You do not immediately unqueue. It's a weird apex thing.
- @Xubunnytwo As for the long queue time. If no filling you get in a line with other no fillers. Only 3 no fillers are allowed in a game (why you'll see 63 players in a match sometimes). If the no fill queue line is long I've seen it take a long time, sometimes never filling in nonpeak hours.
- @hayhor Why do you prioritize que time over everything else? You won't see Que times for this mode be any much longer than the current BR. Why, because it truly would be random.........this wouldn't solve SBMM but it could be a mode where it's not needed. You really want Apex to be the fast food of battle royals? Or stay for the long game, offer quality new content and permanent modes. This mode would meet in the middle of so many requests the general community has, keeping everything "as-is" will kill the game faster than giving us different ways to play.
- @DankToliet I guess it could be worse, I mean to say, I read Overwatch is planning to add PvE to their game in the near future. Can you just imagine the CEO saying, "What we need to make even more revenues is something for the carebears to buy into."?
- @Xubunnytwo Yeah more avenues to fit multiple player preferences is such a bad thing, shame on them.
Even more on the no-party trios, from a development side. It would be sooo easy for them to implement. Nothing to design new, not much specific testing. Remove SBMM, remove parties...and launch! They could have it done tonight! (sarcasm) Think about how much time and money goes into all these LTM's that they said will not become part of the main game. This would be almost too easy for them to implement, and the payoff would be huge. @DankToliet Why do I prioritize queue time? Because I only have so much time to play. I'd play less if queues take multiple minutes.
Again, I'm not opposed to solo queue only lobbies. But yes you will see queue times go up. Unless you have the answers for the below

- @hayhor No-party Trios would be a separate mode, could just as easy make it into duos mode as well. Arenas never made my normal BR wait time longer, neither has any of the LTM's that have came out since release. This mode would not affect the normal que time.

- @BigMacAttack8u Funny you brought this up. I tried Warzone 2 tonight. Horrific experience. It took 2 minutes to get to the waiting map, which then lasted 30 to 60 seconds. So 3 minutes to find a game at peak times of a brand new game. Then once in game everyone is just hiding waiting for someone to run past. Everyone I tried to engage with ran away. I shut off after 2 games.
- @DankToliet Ok so separate mode. Question- Would you rather just have full on solos? I would rather have that than another BR option. That, gun run and control.
- @hayhor actually what is missing is CTF or conquest. It is a basic staple of all PvP where two teams of 30 players either capture flags or conquest the all bases on the map. This would work either way - as we have seen in the limited event they called Control. I wonder if it will ever return as a permanent feature?
I think the "real issue" is head count. If the population trots off to play conquest and no one is queued for the BR and AR, they will be harder to fill with warm bodies. In the end, I suspect they will not make any major changes unless the population grows, but that is the catch 22. The population will not grow when the game stagnates in the swamp of mediocrity. - @Xubunnytwo Capture the flag may be coming, tho it will be smaller squads than what you mention. As for dividing the playerbase. I disagree. These modes would draw players from other games that don't want to play BR. COD has all the modes plus warzone BR which requires 150 players.
