@LaughingSharko Not really no. While I do believe that better players should simply be more successful what I'm getting at is that why should better players be punished by a system that's designed essentially make everyone the same? Why even try then if the normal outcomes will always be ~5% win rates and 1kds for almost everyone? It's a system designed to ensure no one rises above another player regardless of skill. So basically it boils down to "you don't need any type of skill to play Apex, you just need to play. The game will ensure you're doing just as well as players better than you." That, to me, is not on.
@hayhor The odds are increasingly against you even as you get better at the game. It's a bot system for sure. No other way to explain it.
@KyldenarThe reason why Destiny is failing and has failed at their pvp is because they have a drought of new content. All content is just recycled from one source or another. It's repetitive and boring. And their pvp can't be balanced for many reasons, one of them simply being one player having better weapons or builds or gear than others. It's a doomed system by default and they only have maybe 1mil players compared to Apex who has 10x that. And even then only about ~20% of Destiny players play pvp so there's not enough variance in lobbies anyway. I refuse to believe that a player with a ~5% win rate with sbmm can't improve on that! You are losing 95% of the time! You are not that bad, I refuse to believe that 🙂 You should give yourself a bit more credit in your ability to be able to do ok without sbmm. I believe in you 🙂 And yeah I agree, the current system is actually driving me away.

In a manner of speaking, there's a group for school baseball players, middle school, high school, university, minor league, major league and all stars. You wouldn't expect a team of all-stars to play against high school or middle school players, right?
But just like this example, you can still be one of the best university baseball players, even if your skills aren't good enough to get you recruited for the major leagues.

Also, if we are talking PUBS here, which I assume we are. Why should there NOT be SBMM. If you want to put in 800 hours to be the best freaking Apex player there is, then go play ranked and show off your skills. If you put me vs Tiger Woods, neither one of us would have a good time. And in that sense, he would not play me for free (PUBS), just because he can stomp me at what he has trained way longer than me at. SBMM Is necessary and needs work in public matches, These 3 player teams of predators should never be playing against lower tier players.

@LaughingSharko Bro, I get you, but why do we need 2 of the same modes? I still don't agree. Let people have a choice at least. I am fully aware that there are players who have negative kd's. But the general consensus is from what I've gathered on Reddit is that the average player has a kd of around 1 and a win rate of 5%. I get your sports comparison, but we are not playing a sport and we are not in a league. So why should the game treat it as such? My lobbies have come to a point where I can't just play, I need to be some super saiyan 24/7, if I improve in any way it gets worse. I literally have nowhere to go besides pack it up and uninstall. Ya know, everyone's like "it's just a game", so let it be one then instead of letting a bot decide you should be sweating for 8 games straight and then be thrown a freebie every once in a while. That right there makes no sense to me, and it's being done deliberately.
Look man, I appreciate your feedback, but I can see this won't go anywhere so I think we can just agree to disagree. Thanks for the chat 🙂@reconzero "And on the subject of master/pred players being forced to play only their peers, and then leaving because they feel the grind and the burnout? Hold on a minute while I grab a box of Kleenex here so I can wipe away the tears." Nice. Eh, you know what? I'm not even gonna bother with this. Clearly a one sided opinion that "they deserve that for being good". Happy gaming my friend.

Which measure is more relevant - average KDR, or median KDR? These figures will not be the same, there is a difference. Excluding things like falling off of the map, non-deaths from leaving while downed, getting respawned - things like that - the average KDR in a battle royale must mathematically be around 1.0. The more relevant figure would be median KDR. Which, I believe, is around the number @hayhor just mentioned.
- hayhor3 years agoHero@pandareno1999 Good point. Median makes more sense. Especially with the way people fake their kds.

@hayhor Say whaat? LOL dude that's crazy low...2 out of 100!
Do you think sbmm is working correctly here, as in, in those people's favor or against them?
The number isn't really important here, it's just that the game prevents anyone from rising up so to speak.@reconzeroTitanfall and either the og Modern Warfare or Infinite Warfare didn't have it, let's just say older COD games, can't recall really?
That's because, probably, I'm guessing here that people aren't sucked into the loop and win more or sooner, hence play a bit less? That's maybe not the best for revenue, but healthier for the player I would think. Assuming the numbers given are correct, then yes, they probably don't.Edit. oh and Destiny

@reconzero No it's whatever at this point. Seems everyone would rather play the same lobby over and over while being given a false sense of achievement every now and again to keep them engaged anyway, can't change that.
@hayhor And you know what hayhor, I honestly miss those games.
