Permanent ban, for 1 violation in the chat???

Good day, gentlemen, I am not writing through the main account, because it is blocked forever.
In the morning I wake up and see a letter from EA in the mail.
For a chat violation, a ban was issued for 7 days, okay. I see the next letter from EA, a permanent ban for a serious violation.

It was the first violation in 6 years of the account, apparently the last. In the chat I wrote <removed> and called me the same word that I wrote above.

Is this fair, or what is EA smoking there to ban an account forever? I submitted a complaint for reconsideration. Do you think they will unban me? Have you encountered this too? It's just a nightmare

[CM - Edited to remove actioned content]

  • Hey 43c4429a7ab5c6ea,

If something resulted in your game account being actioned, please don't repeat it on the forums either.

An appeal would result in the ban being removed if one of our Terms of Service members finds the behavior that was actioned is not actually against our rules. If it is confirmed to be a violation of our rules, the ban will likely remain in place.

To be clear, it does not matter who started it. If two accounts are swearing at each other or being inappropriate, at most you're looking at both accounts being actioned. We do not take sides in an argument to try and decide who was right and whether the inappropriate language was justified. We simply look at what was said and whether it breaks our rules.

If someone else starts something, you can report and then ignore them. I get that it can be more cathartic to just argue back, but the only thing that does is put your own account in jeopardy if you're being similarly inappropriate. If you're not able to report in-game, you can always report with this form to include any other context, screenshots, recordings/videos, etc.

That is not to say that someone can just be inappropriate in voice chat and it's ok - it's absolutely not. One thing to keep in mind is that there are huge privacy concerns when it comes to something like recording voice chat, so it's something we have to approach carefully and make sure we're handling any information in accordance with various rules and regulations that vary around the world.

Completely understandable that it's easier to report someone for text chat, and we're always looking for ways to improve and streamline the process. For now, reporting and then muting in-game and using the form above to attach any other information or context would be the best bet to make sure your account isn't caught up by adding to their initial toxicity.

  • This is just ridiculous how people get permenantly banned for bad behaviour. People using zen and xim gets banned for a day and then they are free to ho play more. It’s really unfair that you got banned because of that. I hope that your account gets recovered.

  • Whether or not they will unban you is at their discretion.
If the TOS team decides to uphold the ban, then you could re-appeal up to 3 times before the decision is permanent.

It's important not to respond to other users who are engaging in toxic behaviour, it brings out the worst in people.
Just because other users are being toxic, does not mean you are allowed to do so either.

Never write in chat it’s basically giving them a confession with not having to investigate your guilty I get people get mad in the moment or someone says something very rude but I just hit mute right away nor it’s made for a much more peaceful life

  • Get well soon. I had the same problem. I got warned 3 times. Finally my account was banned. But still the people who said bad words to me were not banned. They can say whatever they want to you through the microphone, but if you write it, you get banned immediately. So here EA says "They can say bad words to everything you care about (family, friends etc.) through the microphone, but don't say a word or I will ban you. When we look at EA's rules of behaviour , we see that EA violated its ownrules of behaviour .Ridiculous but sad.  They will probably delete this post too.

I think you don't understand the situation. You don't have a ban against those who say bad things on the microphone. Bad words are said about people's family values and when we get angry and write bad words, we become victims. You don't understand or you don't say anything outside of certain patterns. Most people complain about this situation.

    Hey Frierennnnnnnn,

I completely understand. I've addressed this in the below portion of my earlier post.

The issue here is that regardless of what someone else says, it is not ok to be inappropriate back to them. That doesn't make what they say right, but you don't have to join them in the toxic behavior. That is a decision you get to make for your own account, and you would be responsible for any consequences of that decision.

What you said only applies to those who communicate by writing. In other words, your bans are valid unilaterally. We do not say bad words so that our accounts do not go down, we hear bad words but the other party can say whatever they want without caring. This is where the problem starts. According to EA rules, aren't harassment and bad words forbidden? If those who say bad words on the microphone are still not punished despite being forbidden, then EA itself is violating the rules.

    Frierennnnnnnn

I've directly mentioned voice chat, not text chat in the previous message.

Feel free to read it again, however this is not a productive thread and it's being locked here as we've provided all the information we can to the OP and this is not something we can assist with on the forums.
