Very well worded and absolutely correct. The old kit was far superior and far suited his lore and play style that is aimed to be. His totem allowed for team plays and his silence was great for easy damage and stopping opponents from purely relying on their abilities. I really hope they revert the reborn kit. It's just not him. It's slow, the abilities are trash and he even visually looks worse.
You hit the EXACT nail on the head explaining old Revenant. All they ever needed to do was change his hitbox, instead we got one of the worst kits in the game that has been left to rot.

thanks, underchosen.
one thing i noticed people bringing up, that i love, is how team oriented his totem is. i remember the first time i used his current ult, i looked over at my team to see if they got it too because i'm so used to sharing my ult. Revenant is a great solo Legend, in my opinion: slinking around, crouching, climbing, getting the drop on someone... and say i run a flatline + longbow combo (just to name a set), with good positioning and smart plays, that's a guaranteed spot in the last few teams alive. that aside, he's also a great asset in a team setting. the silence was Genius! Therm, Frag, Arc in one hand, and Silence in the other... diabolical combo when dealing with campers. drop a totem, rush a Caustic / Watson team or even res a teammate in a terrible position... you really had to think things through to use Revenant.
i always struggled with getting Wraiths and Mirages... and the occasional Bangalore. I could solo a team, two knocks, just to then fumble against a Wrat or Mig. Silence not only helped from their tricks, but physically helped me see them clearer with that cancel aura. especially with Wrat's small hit box, it helped So Much.
every Legend has what makes them unique. i wouldn't play Path and say "wow... i wish you were more like Oct... where's your stim? can we at least get a drone for this guy?" no. folks who play Path, understand Path. We're all different people with different play styles... my play style was OG Revenant, and even though this change occurred, i'm not giving up on my favourite legend.
there's So Much talk about what's "meta" and "high pick rate" legends... i see it this way: a "Low Pick Rate" Legend doesn't mean they're Bad, they're just Niche. that ~1.3% are the folks who genuinely love playing that character. High Pick Rate Legends, from my perspective, are for those who are after a win and don't really care who they play. the meta could be Wraith / Bang / Lifeline... currently it's Ash. at one point it was Seer.
As for Me... i'd rather play with my ~1.3% pick rate Legend that i like, and that's Revenant.

I used to go on top of the building where the enemy squad is (possibly camping) then pop my ult, Drop down and go crazy with nades and silences and most of the time I was doing so much damage to the enemy team that after I get sent back to the totem it’s basically just few shots away from squad wipe especially if I had an average teammates. His playstyle was very unique. Get to a high ground, trade shots and use silence, then use ult, drop down and try to do the most amount of damage without the fear of getting knocked which allowed for some crazy plays. **bleep** now that I think of the old times I really do miss him a lot, He would have been an absolute nightmare with all these buffs to the assault class especially the two nades slots
